Yes. But I tried it several times. And always I end up with this corrupted temporary file.

I use Firefox and resumed the download several times, I also tried to totally start the download again.
But again and again I end up with a corrupted temporary file which can't be extracted.
I reach like 99% and then the download gets abrupted.

check your anti virus and make sure that's not a 3rd party rubbish or poor one that's scanning the download while it's active, the one that's built into windows 10 works perfectly and most with other O/S are fine as long as there game and friendly, some like AVG or avast or other poor ones aren't plain and simple and block far too many or slow processes down that much, that items just don't work or install or even download because of them, that why when most contack support, it's mostly the same issues time of 3 mins to do it was for the download, taking the screenshots and also posting them and unpacking the file tbh

I now used the Brave Browser and saved archive file directly on Desktop and it worked.
But now the update 1.1.10 tells me I shall uninstall the old version first. Is this correct?
Or will I lose my Field Marshal version if I do so?

Follow the instructions, you will not lose your Field Marshal version.

There is no Field Marshal Edition as such; it's a bundle containing the General Edition and the first two DLCs.

Field Marshal included the maximum General Edition of the base game, plus the first two DLCs (which are indicated separately on the main page).

Now that we see how much confusion it causes, we do consider to show "Field Marshal Edition" in case both the General Edition and the first two DLCs are installed. This will trigger this message also for people who did not buy FM, but its components separately, but it is probably not a big deal.

That would be very nice, because I bought the field marshal edition, for example.

I finally got it working!
Uninstalled the orginal purchased Field Marshal version, installed 1.1.10 and then 1.1.14, now have "General version" in the start screen,
but still my FM DLCs and my saved games. So everything is fine.
It even appears after the update my hardware isn't so stressed out anymore.

I just updated my FM Edition and I can't play it, no matter what I try to open, Campaign, Tutorial, Scenario... I keep getting this error and it shuts down.

Is it a Steam, GOG or standalone version? Will it help if you fully uninstall and reinstall the game?

So we have to uninstall and reinstall every time we download a new update? You'd think they would have fixed this after the first update when we had to uninstall and reinstall, or the second where we had to uninstall and reinstall, but third times a charm right. I have never had this many problems with any of their other games, this one seems to be the lemon in the bunch.
