Captain Savage (Carthaginians) defeats Karvon (Numidian) 47:9

The Numidian skirmishers seemed very tired in this battle and the Carthaginians were able to catch almost half of them in the early game. A game of hide and seek then took place in the heavily wooded valleys of North Africa as the Carthaginian infantry tried to find the rest of the fast moving Numidian army. The Carthaginians started taking losses to the Numidians but it turns out elephants can't run away very fast. A nasty little fight, at the edge of the battlefield, was resolved when the elephants were finally flanked by some patient legionaries marching through a wood. Some Numidian cavalry were caught in the chaos and that finished the deal. My cheap cavalry won the day by holding on when they should have broken. Lucky dice day for me.

Captain Savage (Carthaginian) vs MadMaxBot Roman

This was always going to be a difficult match up with two well matched traditional enemies. It was a complicated battlefield dominated by two very steep hills on each flank with a very narrow valley between. Both armies initially went for the lower hill (Carthaginian left flank). The Romans were quicker and had more archers and the Carthaginians abandoned their initial attack and moved right to the slightly steeper and rougher terrain on the right. The skirmishers were not shy and went at each other and there were numerous disrupted and fragmented units thrown back on both sides. Some severe damage was done to infantry blocks on both sides disrupting them and simultaneously the armies withdrew expecting a sudden attack as each side had cavalry waiting to pounce.

The thing was that no one was going to march down into the V shaped valley and try to fight up hill at huge (100) disadvantage. Some more skirmishing took place but the heavy units stood and stared and dared the other to attack. Dusk fell while they were still waiting for the moment of opportunity.

Score was 0:0. It might seem dull from the score but it was very exciting to play. There were lots of disrupted units on both sides and actually lots of movement for the first 12 turns but then we both got stuck in safe positions that were stupid to abandon. Actually a great game, just a dull score line.

The kingdom of Soissons with Germanic allies has defeated the Roman and Armenian villains! The sub-roman foot mustering under our standard were no match for their Roman counterparts. Nevertheless the Roman cavalry were routed early in the field after a half-hearted effort and fled leaving the unsupported infantry to their grim fate. The romans tried to gather together and muster to face the duel foot and horse threat and inflicted some casualties upon my men 43-15 but were inevitably flanked and overrun The Romans must have know the gods had abandoned them when the dust from their fleeing horsemen swirled around them muddying their blood-red battle standards and stinging the men's eyes.

The Khazars shall raid our lands no more! no longer shall we remain holed up in our towns and fortresses afraid to cross the open plain, and no longer shall we pay them any tribute, in gold or horses. The Kingdom of Soissons and her brave solders successfully repelled an all mounted force of expert-nomad barbarians 50-19. The murderous horsemen were bent of pillage and plunder but were met in the countryside by a determined army of horse and foot. The heavy cavalry of the mighty Soissons empire were Zealous for battle and the barbarians were unwilling to give their lives in the melee. their horse archers attempted to shoot down the front line infantry while evading but were soon cornered and run down by the lancers, and cut to pieces.

Aetius39 (Indians) defeats Captainwaltersavage (Carthaginian) 55-30

It was a battle that could have gone either way; Indians got some early flanks in but one super-cavalry on the Carthaginian side tore a bloody swatch through the Indian left. Very close and well played Captain!

snooky51 (khazar) defeats captainwaltersavage (carthaginians) -- 45-18

Punics marched out in a tight box formation and advanced on the only nearby forest. Khazars intercepted them and initial volleys of arrows were effective before khazars went to work on the medium infantry. A breakout of elephants was effective but not decisive as khazars surrounded and routed two more punic units en route to victory.

The Glorious Kingdom of Soissons has defeated Carthage in a biter contest of blood and steel. (47-21) The cavalry rode ahead of our armies and made first contact. the Carthagian lancers got the better of the fight and routed part of my horse off the field. No matter! The gods were on our side on this day and the Over eager cavalry chased my horse until they were useless to the battle. The Infantry of Carthage saw there predicament being left with no support and held on top of a hill in a good position. The Soissons proceeded to attack from all sides and won the day.

The Volga Bulgars were No match for the coordinated Soissons army! 47-21 at first contact the Bulgar light horse fled the field with great haste never to return. Then the infantry and lancers forced the outnumbered nomads back until some of them were caught and slaughtered.
