Tournaments are played as Paired Games. You get one match for each side. The idea is to address any issues of balance in the maps (e.g. first turn advantage, attack Vs defence).

Yep!

Not as notable in Two Bridges, as it's a mirrored map, but you'll notice it much more on the other two maps in this tournament

Speaking of two bridges, I only played that once before and got destroyed :) Not feeling great about my first turn, but we'll see...

Is there a signup sheet?

Conboy, I can see from the tournament list that one of your games vs Moonshill has ended unusually early (in Turn 1!), did you get anything odd happen in that game? Any unexpected messages?

This is a test tournament to try and root out weirdness like this, so any help would be appreciated :)

Thanks

No. Nothing strange. I thought Moonshill resigned. Maybe contact him? I didn't resign.
I set up my turn on Red side, then moved one move. Then one game was over and I set up on blue side.
Thass awl I know man.
Maybe contact Moonshill -- I'm still waiting for his first turn on my blue side.

Hmm, very odd. You shouldn't be able to resign from a tournament game (rather spoils the point of the tournament aspect).

I'll see if anything odd was sent through to the server.

Maybe Moonshill figured out how to resign. I remember reading that you can't resign. But Moonshill hasn't been around since early this morning.

Thanks for doing what you do!

If there is a glitch wait until after my opponent resigns to fix it ;) Ugh their turn is taking all day... And none of my normal multiplayer games are going anywhere either. Hmm.

Shards,
Moonshill is participating in the remaining match. Next time I will drop him a message inquiring about the cancelled game.
Forgot this time.

Separate issue: Why does it now almost always take at least three attempts to log in to PvP?

There's definitely something suboptimal with the login server, we're investigating.

For Moonshill's issue, see Point 1 in here: viewtopic.php?f=620&t=100403

My guess is his experience will have been that he started the game and it instantly displayed a DRAW screen. It's a bug and we'll correct going forwards and we'll also adjust up both of your scores for that bugged out game.

Cool.

But more important is the bad log-in issue. I have to log out, log in, try 3 times, log out, log in, try 3 times, and I get in.
Reduces the fun quotient a little bit.

conboy

wow -- looks like I've been "promoted" to second lieutenant. You know what the difference is between a 2nd Lieutenant and a Corporal is? The Corporal has been promoted 3 times.

I'd feel more proud about being eighth if two-thirds of the players hadn't failed to take a single turn yet.

Some of this is the 2nd issue mentioned in the other thread. Some of the scores are being "hidden" occasionally

I'm having difficulty logging in, too.

I was able to log in to play the first turn of each of the two battles, although I needed multiple attempts each time to do so, but since then, I haven't been able to login at all.

I'm discussing the login issues with our network guy, trying to find a reason why it's bottlenecking so badly at the moment.

Thanks for reporting it!

For anyone having issues please reported your IP address and the exact time it happened and your time zone to help the team locate it. So far they cant find any issues but its hard to examine the logs properly without this info.

Thanks for your help.

I'll try and pay attention to these things in future. Not sure about IP address stuff (but, it'll be fun learning), pretty sure it was around 3:10 AM here on the pacific coast of NA.

Login frustrations aside, and I'm glad people are looking into that, woohoo I think I'm doing good! Don't believe I've played this particular opponent before so it was tense, and I did make some early miscalculations.
