Division F

wellsonian (Spanish 900-1049 AD) with (Andalusian 756-1049 AD) Allies draws with wmpryor (Pictish 477-850 AD) with Scots-Irish 477-899 AD) 29-20.

Given our respective army make ups and the wide open terrain in the middle of the map, wmpryor did the only thing he could with his medium spearmen, and dove into the forest on his side. I managed to wipe out his light troops, but resisted the urge to assault his medium troops in the forest with my heavy foot and lancers. When I would threaten his flank, he would square up. Neither one of us really enjoyed it, but it was tactically sound and well played.

Clash of styles was too much. Tmac11 did what he could, but his lists' lack of cavalry and inability of Roman legions to overpower cataphracts proved too much.

Division C

SLancaster German (Imperial) 1155-1199 AD defeated Ironclad Mongols (Europe) 1223-1241 AD. 69-39.

An extremely close game where I only routed 3 cavalry units on turn 24 to suddenly get over 60. The Mongols were very tough and expertly played by Ironclad. I expect other armies to be harassed and beaten down in the coming days and weeks! Thanks for the game and good luck in your coming games.

Morat (Georgian/Byzantine) beat GeneralKostas (Germans/French) 51-23

Battle decided by a titanic cavalry fight on the right. After initial reverses, the Georgians recovered and fought back - eventually breaking the Germans. The Varangarians held the centre for long enough to ensure that the Georgians came through in the end.
