"Players must register one result in each section they have entered within three weeks of the start of the season, and three results within each section they have entered after five weeks (i.e. the halfway stage) of the tournament, or they may be replaced by a player from the reserve list. Players should play their matches evenly across the sections they have entered rather than concentrate on just one section at a time."

Exemptions from the First Time Control check are given to those players who have entered the Themed Event (as they are asked to prioritise those matches) and reserves who have joined the tournament after the starting date.

Geffalrus (Germans S/E) defeats paulmcneil (English) 63-46

Things remained pretty even and balanced as the early carnage of the match got going. I eventually managed to slip ahead because my overwhelmed wing was composed of hard to break mounted knights, while my opponent's threatened wing was composed of flankable infantry and archers. Once again, the combo of cheap Irregular Foot and powerful foot knights worked pretty well at rolling up average heavy and medium foot. I also learned that longbows are not fun to engage at range.

Seeing the elephants and cataphracts massed had me thinking this was going into the loss column especially because I was playing an experienced opponent. I decided the approach to take was a direct one and I sent anything that could launch something at the heavy units and was able to take out the elephants without them doing as much as 4 units of them can do. Grinding down the opposition with my many lancers allowed me to get to the finish line before any great disaster could befall on my otherwise uninspired generalship. Thanks for the match
