I can't even begin to describe this game. I started out chasing his massive cloud of light cav, but then our armies coalesced into two big balls that did their best to murder each other. My full complement of power units was countered by stubborn muslim spears that refused to die. Eventually, pretty much all I had left were two Varangians, two Klibanarii, and a scattered handful of skutatoi. I ended my turn with both Klibs pursuing towards a fragmented muslim spear unit, while schmoly used his light cav to repeatedly charge my routers and lead his lancers toward my own vulnerable flank. The slow Klibs won the race in the void between turns and the pursuit turned into crushing charge that broke just enough to reach 60%. Had this not happened, schmoly was set to get his own self over 60% and then Lord Pete would have to go look at his rulebook or something.

All hail my valiant opponent and the kebab of strength that his soldiers clearly ate before the battle. (3-1)

It was close throughout the match, but in the end Persian numbers (and bows) overcame Seleucid cataphracts and phalanxes.

Close battle, where the Byzantine Skoutai foot and archers just managed to hold off the Huscarls until the heavy cavalry turned the left flank.

Byzantine troops had a hard time at the beginning of the battle but after 18 turns or so they managed to make a vigorous comeback and leveled the situation.
