rs2excelsior (German 888-932 AD) draws with tmac11 (Khorasanian 821-1003 AD with Ghaznavid 962-1187 AD allies) 35-26

This one was a very slow starter. Both armies deployed in a stretch of open ground between two forests. For a while the only action was skirmishing between light troops on the German left. The Khorosanian horse archers started moving forward, and I shifted my own lancers up to meet them as the Khorosanian infantry also moved forward cautiously. My lancers were driven back, but the German infantry managed to turn things around and slam into the enemy army. Dailami foot were making some headway against a German shieldwall on my right as my dismounted lancers pressed through the enemy center, but there just wasn't time for the main fight to resolve. I had been up by about 20% before a bunch of Khorosanian rallies in the last turn, not that it would have mattered in the end - still would've been a draw.

A longer line of legionaries succeeded in out-flanking the shorter, pricier line of phalanxes.

It was a stalemate as, due to the terrain, both players could not attack without immediately finding themselves in inferior condition.

The tournament is now closed. Any unfinished matches will now need to be adjudicated. As soon as the adjudications are done I will post up the final tables and the end of season report. I will also send out the prize vouchers as a priority before starting on the statistics and records.

Thanks a lot, though I think owe most of it to legionaries. They're very forgiving to use.

With his eighth victory just before the deadline, Kerait and his Roman army has won automatic promotion from Classical Antiquity Division E by one point ahead of Blagrot. Well played Kerait.
