Akkula
How is work on 2.0 progressing?

Hello!
The answer is "painfully slow"
This year is proving to be quite challenging to me, I have to deal with several things these months, some of those are good things and others not so good at all. So you can imagine I don't have too much time or motivation to work on the mod.
However, slow doesn't mean stopped. I am working on the project as soon as the chances appear, I am definitely going to released it at some point; don't lose faith
I was planning to reveal some new features from the mod more in the future, but it has happened some time since the last post
So, time to spoil (well not so much, after all most of you already guessed what could come with 2.0 anyway):
Two new nations have arrived to Modern Conflicts. No introductions needed:
North Korean and Chinese naval forces combined:
South Korean and US navies ready to face them:
More to come. Once again, I ask your for some patience.
Massive thanks to everyone supporting the mod, last version alone reached 2000 downloads
Best regards,
Akkula.

Akkula, thanks for not abandoning the project. If you have to, we will wait, because there is something to look forward to.

It's sad that only so few of us, among the 2 000 people that have downloaded it, are on this forum to talk about it.
Don't be shy, people
Just an additionnal word : I'll soon release a map pack for modern conflicts, like the Tobi72's ones ; and plan to do other ones next

.
I hope it will help the MC community to stay a little bit busy until MC 2.0 is released.
Edit : The third scenario of the pack will be pretty ... experimental. I hope that the execution of the concept I had will please the players

The player has a very low number of units and have to travel across the map to visit various villages. He has to gather vital intels by talking with the locals. No large battle, just an usual job of reconnaissance... with some twists and unexpected situations. It's a video game, after all

I'm just released from the Japanese and I can test your project if of course there is not quite a plot sucked out of a finger )

What is a "plot sucked out of a finger" ?
One of a problem with translators on computers ; is that they can translate badly expression from a foreign language.

The phrase “plot sucked out of your finger” can mean an implausible or uninteresting script.
I agree ) Just like for example the expression to hump the hump means to fantasize without taking into account modern realities )

So I can already reassure you : all of them are inspired by real events ; just changed a little bit to stay a fiction while still offering a coherent story.
The first scenario is inspired by the first days of Opération Serval in 2013 ; the second one by the Uzbin ambush in Afghanistan ; the third by various stories told by some friends that went there (of course heavily modified) ; and the last one is a reward to introduce heavier equipment in the campaign after those very particular COIN scenarii (the pack was thought as the 4 first scenarii of a campaign where the player keep his core).
Of course, if your feelings are hurt or your worldviews are challenged in one way or another, feel free to not play it. I have made long research to write my storyline and I enjoy doing and sharing my scenarii for the MC mod ; but if you don't like them, worry not. You can simply continue to play the Akkula's campaigns or the Tobi72's map packs, that are all excellent. There is absolutely no problem.

hello.
It's fantastic that 2.0 is close, as are the scenarios by tobi72 and imero.
Have you thought about doing any "red dawn" type campaign, in a hypothetical war conflict in which the US is invaded?
Thank you for the work you do and greetings

And in general is it possible to replace the units of the Second World War with modern ones from the Akkula mod ?

Unfortunately, Akkula seems to have shifted to Asia ; Tobi72 do a Japanese campaign ; and I have other projects before thinking about a red dawn campaign. But I don't know what they keep in reserve, and that's just the situation today. Who knows what the situation will be tomorrow

Do you mean, for example, that the DLCs are repurposed with Akkula's units and these campaigns are practically set in modern times... or the Soviet campaign? Or have I misunderstood something?

Since the campaign in the U.S. itself is still very far away to take maps of the Wehrmacht invasion of the U.S. but instead of the Germans let it be the Russians and our time ))))
In the first option my friend you will finally be able to erect your statue of liberty in New York )))))

After the advent of full-fledged Koreans and Chinese you can do something similar )))) In the movie they already replaced Russians with Koreans ))))

Theoretically that would be possible.
This is just an example...the first scenario from the Poland DLC...Poznan.
