I have every confidence in Mr Ruddock.
My accurate prediction of Mr Ruddock's sublime dice rolling ability. 8)

An excellent Britcon - well done to Tim, Kev, Andy & everyone else involved who made this another great wargaming weekend.

I had 5 excellent games and 1 non-event where I couldn't attack Dave's Serbs in the open and he was too scared to attack me in uneven - the Aztecs were good fun but they just can't live with too many knights, although they did kill 4 BGs of HvA Knights in 2 other games.

Dropping 1 score from 6 worked well and unless I'm mistaken had the added benefit of nullifying submarining.

Next year's Britcon is already on the calendar!

I think more games in the early period completed due to dropping worst score. You (think you) can afford to be more aggressive if you can drop a bad score when your plan goes wrong so play was more open.

Also if you compare the scores left and right people are pretty much in the same order.

Yep, looks like most people dropped a score that was a right spanking, so it made little overall difference to the total score as hardly anyone dropped more than 5 points, so almost no difference to the overall positions either.

6 people, including Bob and Andy were both "dropping" a "missed round" in the Early period (ie a score of "0"), so they still placed a very healthy 5th and 6th ..

Surely a special mention must go to Graham Evans with a great score over 5 rounds.

I only ask what I'd ask any superstar, what is it that you have got that puts you where you are? :?

Is that the Mr Evans that hunted down a bunny for the 1st round?

Well for a start MR Evans avoided me
I would also like to say a big thankyou to Andrew Martin, Phil Powell, Graham Briggs, Shaun Drummond, and David Cutner for being great opponents.

Thanks Tim, And Kev for organizing the event top class.

Thanks to everyone involved for a great event.

And thanks to my opponents, Hugh, Guillaume, Lance, Peter, Dave and Pete for 6 well played games.

I'm already looking forward to next year.

Well, as said the stated bunny in Mr. Evan's first game, it actually worked in my favour - after the 25-Nil slapping he gave me on Friday night, it enabled me to engage the periscope a little, finishing a healthy 15th position in my first Britcon! I even had to wipe away the nosebleed reaching the dizzy heights of 7th before Sundays games...I had two slappings, dished out two slappings, had a healthy winning draw, and a straight 10:10.

Great weekend, and will definitely be back next year.

Nice to hear you will be back next year. Although I think Rob Taylor has a cheek talking about bunnies, when in his game against the Mayans he attacked a bunch of MF in rough going with pikemen in order to force a result. There was certainly a result in that game...

Dave, I thought I'd take a leaf out of your book. Just charge in with no chance and expect the dice to dig me out of it. Obviously my dice aren't as good as yours. :(

Napoleon, 2 games in 2 years and I still can't get past your blasted light foot. Things are a little hazy but at game end you still had a battle group of light foot holding on against my light foot and pike in combat after numerous bounds of fighting.

At least I learned my lesson and was seconds away from breaking the other hairy-assed natives that call themselves Aztecs when time was called.

I also want to thank everybody, especially my opponents and my dices :)
It was again a wonderful event, and for next year, Top 10 is a realistic goal (hopefully)

Also, I hope to see everybody next year 2 times, once on Britcon, and one at the Worlds one week later!

It would be nice to know the full result breakdown to see the number of finished/drawn games.

This is the second time in 3 or 4 years that dave_r has been first loser by entering the period where the big boys aren't (and I am sorry but if Pete is taking Aztec's I know he is not serious...) and having exactly the same score as the winner. Even with those dodgy dice he could not win. dave_r, when exactly are you going to win properly at Britcon...?
