For playing?
It's not very long 15 to 20 hours, it seems. Nothing compared with Kingdoms of Amalur... it took me 120 hours without DLCs.
I'm now on 35 hours in Fallout: New Vegas. I guess I can go to more 20 hours easily.

I got bored with Fallout 3, so I've gave up at the time. Maybe I should turn back one of these days.
With Fallout: NV I haven't been bored.
My gaming backlog is keeping in getting bigger and bigger.
Damn Steam sales. (I'm joking)

There is lots of fantastic profesional looking mods for Fallout New Vegas who fit perfectly into the gameplay and enviroment and worth start a new game but since you are only at h35 they could be fittend in and would come just right on time
Are you registered in the Nexus ?...
some MUST have mods are
Area 51
A World of Pain
DEIMOS
New Vegas Bounties I
New vegas Bounties II
Silver Peak Bunker
XP slower (slower level up to avoid being unstoppable early)
....together with the expansions and these mods gameplay easily extends to 150-200 hours of content

there are most surely some more awesome mods out by now as I havent checked since 6 months

Hmm. Yes I'm registered at Nexus. I did a quick look before starting to play. But didn't saw anything relevant at the time.
I'll look into these, although I generally like always to play the game the way the devs intended. Usually I'm only looking for cosmetic mods.
But that's not a gold rule.

Believe me..the ones I mentioned do not interfere with the story but fill in empty gaps and spaces and add more locations were there was nothing before...you wont notice so much that they are not part of the vanilla game..some of the dlc have weid locations and content too
you need NV mod manager and script expansion and the ressource files...well..its all pretty explained...but it really worths the time and the play

Yes, I've the Nexus mod manager installed. I use it also with Skyrim.
And I've all the DLCs. I bought the whole package when it was on sale last year. I was going to wait for GOTY, but It was around 10€ so I couldn't resist. A real bargain.
Thanks.

It's interesting, although I'm for now, avoiding any rebalance feature.
I've found meanwhile, that I went to fast into the Strip, and missed some important side quests. This is bigger than I thought. :D

Has anyone bought into this beta yet? It's suppose to be a game based on Mater of magic.
I have been watching the youtube videos from the beta and it looks amazing.

Have any of you played the Dayz mod for Arma II?
I was watching a youtube video and it looks fantastic. It has got me wanting to buy Arma II, just for this mod.

I don't like to play games with Zombies. If it would be only the survival part, I would consider it.
But I know it's really popular by now, by the point of ArmA2 has been again in Steam's best sellers chart after it was released two years ago.
That only proves that a game with such a true open world can be used in many different ways. Specially when having a big caring mod community.
I know sometimes I sound like a fanboy speaking about OFP/ArmA series... but I think that you should have it regardless of this mod or not.
OFP/Arma series are one of the the best computer games ever release. Personally it's my number one.

But...but, I hate games that are about war. ;)

Soon as I can get a deal on it, I will.

Update: I have found a demo on steam. Me play now and see what I thinks.

.
The first Resident Evil and Silent Hill for Playstation and Silent Hill 2 for PS2 were pure awesomeness..especially Resdient Evil with 3d characters in pre-rendered scenes had people gobsmacked cause such realism never existed before  and the game was so immersive that it scared the crap out of me...I loved playing it at night in a dark room ...I had constant quarrels with my grilfriend by that time as I always said I will come to bed in 10 minutes and then stayed playing the entire night  ....it was really a true milestone
as well two of my all-time favorite oldies from C64 are Paradroid and Impossible Mission...awesome games...ditching school just to play these games got me into trouble more than once  ahhh..sweet memories of a carefree boyhood
