There is a hill in Scotland that is littered with dead bodies, So much blood shed in this one, the terrain really making a interesting battle. I had some late game rallies to make the score shift more in my favour. A close bloody match. Thank you for the game.

Sennacherib ( Ummayad ) defeat Constantinix ( Viking ) 62/41

Division E

Morat (French/Vikings) beat Blagrot (British/Vikings) 60-53.

Closely fought throughout. French punched into the British centre: dismounted lancers and huscarls cutting their way through shieldwalls. But a slow British envelopment of the French left, and a tough fight in the woods in the right drew more and more French troops, who struggled to cope with their British foes. Lancers left as a nasty surprise to halt the British got chewed up by a mixture of foot and horse.

In the end, there were a very small number of French foot left on a ridge that the two armies had contested, and these (and the remnants of the lancers and archers) just had enough to beat back the British. But the French were probably two turns at most from defeat.

Many thanks to Blagrot for a great battle. On another day, it could very easily have gone another way.

Aetius39 (Andalusian) defeats Karvon (Arab Conquest) 60-58

The armies met on a mostly flat plain, except for a little hill in the middle. The Andalusian lights and archers softened up some of the Arab's spearmen, but while a few of those broke, other units came in and smashed through the Andalusian massed archers and weaker spearmen. Eventually the middle collapsed on both sides and it became two mini-battles. The end came down at the second to last turn; the Andalusians barely scraping by. Good, tough fight from Karvon; you played well! Good game!^^

It was a very tough battle, at the beginning the persian shooting units created a lot of losses in the arab line (roughly 14% - 0%), the situation changed when the arab spears were able to charge the persian infantry and the arab lancers attacked the persian cavalry.
For sure I committed some mistakes in the first phase of the battle but I was able to recover the situation.....

In what has been an extremely tight contest, kraff and his Numidian army has secured 7 wins and just pipped Stew101 and Najanaja to the automatic promotion place. All 3 players have won 7 and lost 2 and oscarius can also post a 7-2 record (and take third place) if he wins his last 2 matches. I think this must be one of the closest divisions ever. Well played kraff.
