Division D
Aetius39 (Bosporan) defeats Generalshapur (Indian) 59-22
Indian army had a good plan hurting the Bosporan right side, but not enough to stop the superior Roman troops overpowering the unprotected archers. GG to my opponent!

Division B
Morbio (Carthaginian (Hannibal in Italy) 216-203BC with Samnite 355-272 BC allies) defeated Challenge1 (Carthaginian (Hannibal in Africa) 202BC) 53 - 26
A close game that revolved around keeping the superior cavalry and elephants at bay while the infantry advantage was utilised.
The usurper was defeated and Carthage is united once more... now where is Rome?

Division E
Morat (Lombards) beat Tratmot (Armenian/Romans) 60-53.
A really close run battle that the Lombards were lucky to win. Faced by a barrage of archers, and with the risk of being penned in the Lombard horse charged on the left with the warbands pushing up in the centre. Quite a lot of the Lombard horse never made it: but a couple managed to close with the massed archers, and a couple managed to get round the back to take the enemy foot from the flank and rear. On the right two Lombard lancers managed to hold up the Armenian cataphacts for most of the battle: and this likely saved the Lombards from a heavy defeat.
Well played to Tratmot: who on another day would have won.

(3-1)

snooky51 (parthian 250 BC-225 w/ 312BC-299AD allies) defeats Captainwaltersavage (Visigothic 419-621 AD w/ Byzantine 551-578 AD allies) --- 47-19
In the center, Roman heavy infantry broke early against Parthian cataphracts, which was the determining factor. Parthian mounted archers had the advantage on the flanks early on and the Gothic lancers never had their opportunity to start working the flanks of the cataphracts.

An early double cohesion drop set off a big chain disrupt in my favour on one flank while my skirmishers shot his lancers to pieces on the other. Thanks for the game, without that big early advantage it easily could have gone against me with such steep terrain

Pool B semi-final
Aetius39 (Persian) defeats Captainwaltersavage (Greek) 43-9
Captainwaltersavage (Persian) defeats Aetius39 (Greek) 43-10
Both Greek commanders foolishly charged headlong into the Persian lines, changing history for the worst.^^ Greeks on both sides got cut up by Persian archers, then finished off by flanks and being ganged up. GG Captain it was fun playing, and real, real close at the end; one more unit regaining cohesion and it would be totally different scoring.
Match score 1-1. Aetius39 wins on tie-breaker 34-33.

Weekly round-up
Nothing new to report fron Division A this week, but in Division B the reserve player Morbio (Hannibal in Italy) has finished his matches and posted a reasonable target of 26 points. Two players can still beat that target - fifth placed Challenge1 (Hannibal in Africa), who was beaten by Morbio this week, and seventh placed batesmotel (Pergamene), who has 3 wins from 4 starts. At the bottom paulmcneil (Saka) is relegated. Two wins for kraff (Numidian) has seen him move to the top of Division C, but he must get at least a point in his last match against third-placed Najanaja (Hannibal in Italy) to win automatic promotion ahead of Stew101 (Roman). Just the relegation battle to resolve in Division D and random27 (Samnite) improved his situation there with a narrow second win of the season to leave Tresantes (Pyrrhic) adrift with 3 matches to play. deeter (Hannibal in Italy) has finished strongly to displace long time leader joggy (Roman), but his total of 25 points can still be surpassed by 3 players who have all lost only one match so far this season - Kerait (Roman), Blagrot (Sertorius) and tmac11 (Seleucid). In Division F a seventh win for kronenblatt (Pyrrhic) means that he needs just 1 point from his last match against bottom-placed hscic (Armenian Tigranes) to win automatic promotion ahead of doomben (Bosporan).

Weekly round-up
A sixth win for LuciusSulla (Roman) has moved him up into second place just 2 points behind CheAhn (Sassanid) who has finished his matches. Nosy_Rat (Breton) is third with 5 straight wins. There are 6 players still in the relegation battle with lots of games still to be completed. It is very tight in Division B where second-placed desertedfox (Parthian) needs maximum points from his last match against phoyle3290 (Sassanid) to overtake schmolywar (Jewish Revolt) at the top, having beaten him in their match together. Of the others Najanaja (Dacian) and GDod (Ancient British) can still reach 26 points to take them past both schmolywar and desertedfox while batesmotel (German Horse Tribes) can still get to 31 points by winning all 5 remaining matches. At the bottom lunecastle (Byzantine) is relegated after failing to win any of his first 7 matches. In Division C oscarius (Jewish Revolt) posted a sixth win which means that he will win automatic promotion if he secures a maximum point win against bottom of the table Bluefin (Alan) in his last match. Bluefin narrowly lost the relegation battle match with SawyerK (Byzantine) this week leaving him as firm favourite for the drop now. Aetius39 (Bosporan) has completed a superb clean sweep in Division D to achieve the maximum total of 36 points to finish 4 points ahead of Warg1 (Scots-Irish). No change at the bottom where we are still waiting to see if bomber23 (Arab City) can beat fellow struggler Supervark (Byzantine) to give himself a chance of avoiding relegation. In Division E Morat (Lombard) has finished with 3 very narrow victories to post a tough target of 30 points. Only snooky51 can stop him from gaining automatic promotion now. As snooky51 narrowly beat Morat in their match together he needs to get 14 points from his last 4 matches to finish top. Another win for Darkwater247 (Gepid) in Division F keeps him in the promotion chase where toska (Sassanid), with 4 straight wins, remains favourite to overtake Conteshard (Byzantine) who has finished on 27 points. telesien (Roman) currently looks to be the favourite for the wooden spoon after his sixth straight defeat.
