There are 8 matches still to be completed in this section; 6 of them are "in progress" and there are 2 matches in Division D involving leox857, claytonengel and mchargmg that I have no recent information about. If any of you three reads this post could you provide the latest position please?

Division A
Lysimachos (Early South Slav) 30/44 Turk1964 (Abbasids) 30/30
A tough encounter at the foot of some hills where numbers and better dice rolling finally told their truth.

Well played, Guido. It means I am off the bottom again! Get that table up pronto, Mark!

I actually do better when I am not playing any matches, it is a complete disaster when I do!
So your heroic committee have a final combined record in EMA of . . . Played 27, Won 3 Drawn 1, Lost 23 . . .

It was a great game, I enjoyed most of it

, and learnt, how not to handle cavalry (lost all mine in two turns!) ... oh yes and the "Arabs" can field far too much of it

Division B
Ironclad (Lombards early) 32/37 win v kilroy (Umayyad Arabs) 35/32
Initially kilroy's skilful use of the terrain boxed me in and led to some desperate Lombard heavy cavalry attacks uphill against close order defensive spear infantry! That was compounded when several of my units launched berserk attacks and suffered accordingly - the Arabs caught the bug and did the same! Although my left flank was doing well, by midgame my right was on the point of collapse. Fortunately the dispersed nature of the battle meant that this successful enemy wing was unable to intervene in time to stop my remaining units polishing off their opposition, taking the enemy camp and reaching the lower break total needed. Thanks for the game.

Division B
Ironclad (Early Visigothic) 37/47 win v Turk1964 (Dominate Roman Eastern early) 34/32
My valiant Visigoths and brave Gepid allies end a successful campaign on a winning note. Helped by favourable terrain and superior numbers the Visigoth horde heavily outflanked their Roman opponents on the left and the defending Cats and heavy cavalry were destroyed or fell back. However fine defensive play, Roman fighting power and a crumbling other flank slowed and narrowed the eventual triumph. Thanks to Turk and my other opponents.

We haven't done them yet, Charles. It will be the first job after this first season ends on 31/12. Basically they will be an amalgamation of the last season's data from LOEG and the data from Season 1 of the FOG Digital League.

Message for Mike48 and Brenmusik - if you want to move to Stage 2 of the voluntary procedure you may do so now. If you do it today then we can adjudicate just before Xmas. Just post a 2nd challenge for Semaeon and send another PM. I am assuming that no-one has heard from him.
As there are only 14 days left now there is no time for any other matches to use the voluntary procedure. It has worked quite well, I think.
