Hi,
I have to say, I found the format really good. To be able to play many armies rather than sticking to one was great. If it came to a vote I would vote for it in other leagues. I think determining the scenarios prior to the games starting was the best way of doing it.
Here are my 5:
Achaemenid Persian 545-481 BC
Assyrian 681-609 BC
Lydian 687-551 BC
Skythian 750-551 BC
Thracian (Getae) 680-330 BC

Hi guys,
I agree with you Ian, 100%.
Ciao

Division A
Triarii - Carthaginian (Hannibal in Italy) 216-103BC with Samnite 355-272 BC allies beats Cunningcairn - Roman 105-25 BC with Numidian or Moorish 55 BC- 6 AD allies 63-54.
Another excellent game in which both the advantage and fortune swung from one side to the other too many times.
Many thanks to Cunningcairn for an excellent game.

It has been interesting this time, but I like your idea of alternating. I would select:
Achaemenid Persian 545-481 BC
Kushite Egyptian 727-656 BC
Skythian/Saka 550-301 BC
Babylonian 626-539 BC
Arab 1000-313 BC

by TomoeGozen
Division F
TomoeGozen (Soissons) defeats Darkwater247 (Gepid) 43-18.
Once again the large size of the sub-roman and germanic units helped soaked up the pressure of repeated lancer charges long enough for the Soisson cavalry to start getting around the flanks. The army of Soissons was greatly helped in its endeavour by the wild impetousness of the Gepid lancers causing them to pursue relentlessly after any victories they achieved until they were no longer in a position where they could get back in time to help the main battle line.
Thanks to Darkwater247 for another good game.

Division A
harveylh - Gallic 300-101 BC with Samnite 355-272 BC allies defeats klayeckles - Ptolemaic 55-30 BC with Roman 105-25 BC allies, 56-31
A hard-fought battle where the Gallic warbands only through superior numbers eventually wore out the Roman legionnaires in the center. On the Gallic left flank a raw Ptolemaic pike phalanx broke three Samnite units and nearly was the nemesis of the Gauls. On the Gallic right flank the Ptolemaic cavalry and camels won the initial skirmishes but the battle ended before they became a factor. Good game.

My opponent took up position on a hill with water at the bottom in a narrow map due to mountains. This made it almost impossible to assault. I did try and lost 37% casualties by end of time.

It would be interesting to know what the opponent could have done with the Picts lining the deep stream which would have disordered any attack. I apologise that my attacks were not enough to make for an interesting match and wish you more luck in your other games.
