Ironclad (Seleucid Successor) 34/39 vs Voskarp (Alex. Macedonians) 44/43

Tough fight between two comparable armies, each gaining success on opposite wings with the phalanx battle deciding things.

Checked and missing results filled in.

One question remain...was bagration playing against Porsenna?
Need to be clear before I(or maybe Bagration himself  ) can fill in the result.

Yes -- his game was against Porsenna.

I actually prefer playing similar armies. It makes it more chess like and you know the outcome won't be affected by some quirks of the design that may favour certain types of armies in certain matchups on certain terrain. I can't wait to play fog napoleonics where armies are exactly the same. People would just enjoy playing that period because they're attracted to it. Similarly people are not naturally attracted to playing dacians, nubians and jewish revolt and whatnot minor armies. Those armies are played because people realize the system makes them powerful armies more so than because they are 'exotic'. Numidians are more famous in military history than nubians but nobody in their right mind would use numidians. The fact that some types of armies are dominant for a particular period is a historical fact regardless of how a game design tries to make everything equal.

flatsix518 is being kind when he refers to me as dim-witted...

Glad I was able to overachieve and screw up both the spreadsheet and the victory post. Oops.

I must agree with Fogman. I too am a fan if civil war games. Things like army composition, deployment and tactical manuevering all become that much more critical. And because all things are equal, victory is that much sweeter.

As for minority armies being quite powerful in FOG. Most of these minority armies seem to be 'irregular' and because of the poorly contrivied command and control rules in FOG, these minority irregular FOG armies are far too easy to control, and easily surround and overwhelm the smaller regular (and historically successful) armies giving ahistorical results.

Roll on the discussion for FOG 2.0 rule changes I say!

Tiavals(Ancient British) 64/60

Lack of judgement on my part put some of my lancers in peril when they attacked light chariots uphill.
The rest of the lancers did better assaulting another hill defended by the MF. When they reached the mob who stood trembling at the far back the points rushed upwards.

Division A

Morbio (Eastern Foederate Romans) 34/41 vs Eric Doman (Persians) 42/40

Eric had a bad start but got the most out of his army after that and may well have won the battle if there were a few more turns.
