Estherr wrote: Mon Jan 01, 2024 2:17 pm Roads a bit too saturated/bright and drags little too much attention compared to soft-toned map and city graphics. But as for me, I like the idea =)
I also think that there is a bit too much contrast / saturation, whatever on these new road hexes and they stand out a bit too much compared to the vanilla terrain graphics. So I would probably reduce their contrast like 20-30% or something like that, other than that I also like the idea. :)

Akkula wrote: Sun Jan 07, 2024 11:22 pm Regarding Update 2.0, ATGM infantry finally will make its entrance into the game
Sounds like another great idea, I am happy to see that my original suggestion for range=1 AT missile units are further evolved, now combined with the deadly AT units with camo trait which proved to be very effective in the BE mod as well. But yes, as written above, there may be issues as well, like potentially making them too effective against bunkers and strongpoints.

Also, I am not sure if it is a good idea to give them 0 soft attack, perhaps they should be able to defend themselves a bit by giving them like -1 or -2 SA, in which case they would shoot back when attacked by infantry. I guess even these units should have some hand weapons, not only rocket launchers. Also some of those rockets should have some limited effectiveness against soft targets... just thinking...

Interesting.
I could try to work on it, let's how it goes :D It is always nice to add more stuff to minor nations.
Thanks for the suggestion!
Thunderhog wrote: Sun Jan 07, 2024 11:27 pm Wow, can't believe I called it! Do you think you'd ever let ATGM vehicles and RPG/ATGM infantry have reaction shots against enemy armor like in Panzer Corps 2?
You mean support fire for nearby friendly units?. If that is the case, there is nothing I can do, those mechanics are hard coded in the game.
Maybe someday, if the game goes abandonware, somebody could improve it.... we can dream.....
Estherr wrote: Mon Jan 08, 2024 9:20 am Question though: how will it work along with existing RPG units and ATGM IFVs? I mean, RPG infantry is already somewhat overkill, especially when it comes to difficult terrain and entrenched positions. IFVs, on the other hand, is niche-devastating and more vulnerable than RPG. New ATGM units sounds like potential devastators against bunkered units =)
RPG units will be nerfed a bit (not to confuse some IFVs that are already armed with ATGMs). So they will be able to inflict damage on regular armored units and "light" tanks; leaving the ATGM units as the proper tank killers.
McGuba wrote: Mon Jan 08, 2024 4:24 pm like potentially making them too effective against bunkers and strongpoints.
Which would be not so unrealistic. In the current war, ATGM have been used to destroy are damage fortified positions with decent results. Also, the unit has few movement points, so it wouldn't be too useful as an offensive weapon.

That's the idea, to have a devastating tank killer unit but with some weak points. After all, if the player wants some sort of anti AFV infantry unit with defensive capabilities, then the RPG unit is the way to go.
But, of course, it's WIP, so all suggestions and ideas are most welcome. The SA=-1 idea could be an intermediate point, why not.

best regards.

Damn, that really sucks Akkula, one of the best parts of Panzer Corps 2 is anti-tank units having the ability to provide unit support. Sucks that it can't be added.

Hello folks,
I was working on some new terrain tiles, Asian style:

Nothing fancy, just a few to try add some proper atmosphere in certain battles. I have no Massi's skills to work on tiles, but I hope I can create a few ones with decent quality :S

In Iran, for the first time, the launcher of the very Ababil missile system (Ababil) was lit up, which they showed for the first time in the form of a mock-up in their exposition at Army 2023.
The Ababil MLRS launcher was captured on the Tehran-Qom highway.
This is the first photo of this system, it contains 6 or 8 Ababil missile shells with a range of 86 km.

Hello guys,
Just wanted to let you know that the works on 2.0 are still going on.... very slow, but consistent I think. Life doesn't give me enough free time for modding (plus motivation, which sometimes is everything).

For now I will let you know that another nations has decided to show up in Modern Conflicts :P

I've been playing the Nato campaign and it's been a great & challenging. I'm a fan of the old Peoples General game and this mod is quite similar. Great work many thanks for making this mod!

Currently I'm stuck at the Nato campaign mission 20 where you have to capture Vyazma and assist the UK troops. I just can't reach the UK troops before they inevitably lose one of the Smolensk city hexes on turn 3. I have experienced bomber/fighter units, but I can't do enough damage in 2 turns and my tanks need 1 more turn to reach the city. Any tips for this mission?

It's been a while since I played NATO campaign that far... but if I recall:

1. Challenger-2's - they used to be the best MBTs in NATO roster AND have 6-hex movement on top of it. Back it up with strike aircrafts and you have fast rolling punch;
2. You can upgrade aux units - changing regular Infantry to Heavy MG can be difference enough to buy you that extra turn;

Hello outofspace1,
Most of the units from your list are already part of the Polish roster in the mod.
The rest (i.e. Abrams, Black Panther, Himars) were acquired very recently, some are even in delivery process.
But sure, I could add many of those by the next update.
As Estherr says: the more, the merrier.

Thanks a lot for your suggestions.

Best regards,
Akkula.

Oh that looks awesome Akkula, maybe a second one showing infantry and another showing the best aircraft of each nation (Su-57, F-22, and whatever China's is)
