Yes, this is an interesting idea. It will make the missile-heavy armies stronger, particularly the horse archer armies - and it is likely to result in more drawn games, so a revisiting of the "marginal victory" rule would also be appropriate, particularly in competition play.

actually hidde, many of the armies you cited can be built to be under 50 break points. it's a matter of getting allies and pricey commanders. it would never be an issue with later armies with access to heavy cavalry.

B division

fogman (early dominate romans) 24/36 vs macsen (principate romans 100-196) 38/37

maneuvers from cavalry and medium foot broke up his battle line of armoured skilled swordmen and cataphracts. heavy foot and heavy cavalry overwhelmed his isolated centre.

I would like us to adhere to the rules laid down as in both FOW and double moves are on.

So Dave and epos you should replay your game.

Season 9

5. Match Preferences – FOW & Double Moves

“Double Moves” and “FOW” will be mandatory for this league. This is mostly due to the fact that the vast majority of players use these options and by creating consistency eases game setup for players and administration of the league for me.

Also the first post on each Comms and results, confirms this

Bagration1812 (Late Bosporan) 17/41 vs Porsenna (Celtiberians) 67/65

Bagration was more of a fiery, headstrong type. Much less of a deep thinker. I've chosen my nom de guerre appropriately...

C division

fogman (medieval germans) 16/48 vs dave_r (early ordonnance french) 47/45
impetuous charges by french knights broken by a wall of german pikes in the centre. swiss pikes rolled up the french right wing.

fogman (medieval germans) 5/46 vs okie (kommenan byzantines) 30/28
the final act was an epic charge of superior swiss pikes against a line of super heavy elite varangian guards and knights.

Looks like Bargration1812 messed up his victory claim. He's my dim-witted friend -- I'll help him to get it straightened out. Now that I've gotten it sorted out for myself (I had my own stupid issues).

Yes, but who in their right mind would want to :D
No Gallic or British army of 50Bp would stand a chance against a Roman of 40-42Bp, for example.
In Classic and Imperial I can't see how this could mean anything else but Roman armies vs pike armies and the rest would hardly ever be used.
