Oh man that would be savage... I think it could work though, Russia IS pretty pressed for resources after all. Hmm.

Hi,

Have been waiting for the new tournament, now I read Karis' advices for Russia Campaign. Seems very challenging and long battle, but I'm willing to take a try. I have played OoB quite a lot, so I feel confident as Napeleon that I can capture the Moscow..

But I can also play the soviets side, if there are still any players left?

Am I correct in saying that the latest version of the Russian Campaign 1941 is 3.7? Where can I download this plus the latest version of The West Campaign. Thanks.

The latest version of The Russian Campaign, and all the other excellent scenarios by Parreigo, are in the provided dropbox links in the very first post. Have fun!

Thanks for your reply. I did download the Russian Campaign (1 vs 1) 3.71.

I then extracted the files. There were a whole bunch of them starting with "Move Path".

I opened up Documents/My Games/OoB WW2 and tried the following:
I copied them to the scenario folder but that did not work. I then created a folder and named it Multiplayer and copied it that folder. That also did not work.

Will this scenario work with the base game? If yes where do I put the extracted files? Or what is the procedure to be able to play this scenario multipler?

Don't worry, everyone has some troubles when they first go using the player made maps. They should be placed in the "scenario" folder you first tried. If I had to guess the problem is extracting? In my case I just have a new folder in scenarios called The Russian Campaign and then all the individual files are inside of that. Double checking things, when I extract the downloaded file I only get the one folder containing everything. Let me know if that helps.

Thank you for the reply. I've been told that I need to purchase one of the DLCs before a multiplayer scenario like Russian Campaign will work so that will be my next step.

Ah, that's a pity. To be honest I wasn't sure if it was required or not so I guess I'm still learning about the game myself after all this time. Fortunately it's a worthwhile investment.

Blitzkrieg, the best DLC for me.

PS: promotions for Easter coming up?

My interest is multiplayer. It looks to me like the only two DLCs that option to play multiplayer are Allies Victorious and U.S. Marines. Can the scenarios in Blitzkrieg be played multiplayer?

I really think Operation Seelowe would benefit from strengthening the UK. As it is now they have essentially zero chance of winning because they can't replace lost units. They're all auxillary rather than core. The same does not apply to the Germans however. Plus 22 requisition points per turn to handle both air and sea forces is very low, so even if a unit isn't outright destroyed it can't be repaired. Definitely a great concept though.

Hi, I was wondering if there are changes coming for The Russian Campaign. At the moment it's very hard to win for the Axis, to downright impossible if the Soviet player knows what it's doing. It mostly has to do with the huge increase in soviet RP while the Axis RP falls behind really hard.

Two examples: at turn 60 the combined RP income of the axis powers is 519 rp, of which 440 rp are for the Germans. The soviets at turn 60 get 920. Almost a 400 RP gap.

At turn 75 the combined RP income of the axis is 639, of which 560 are for the Germans. The Soviets at turn 75 get 1500 income. Almost a 3 to 1 ratio.

Now i understand that this is slightly based on the fact that the Soviets lose a huge amount of units at the start of the game. But it doesnt seem to take into account the big amount of reinforcements the Soviets get as during the first 30 to 50 turns.

An solution for this would for example be to increase the RP income of the Axis minors like Romania, Finland and Waffen-SS over the turns as well as reducing the Soviet income.

I toyed around a bit in excel with this and came up as the following for the Axis at turn 60.

Germany - 440
Waffen SS - 30
Romania - 50
Italy - 25
Finland - 50
Bulgaria - 10
Hungary - 25

This makes for a grand total of 630 for the axis. The soviet income would stay the same in this case for 920.
I have an excel sheet from turn 1 to turn 95 with suggested changes, though at the moment i can't seem to figure out how to post a screenshot of that here...

Anyway I am curious to your opinion on this.
