SD Productions are proud to announce a review of the podium placing predictions. Based on intel received on the lengths some competitors are going to in order to win and other emerging variables we have

The John
Stewart Pathfinder Riddick and
Stephen Stead

You heard it here first.

PS
SD predicts a top ten place for his old pal HH but only just.

Practicing my speech. "friends, Britconites, countrymen, I come not to bury Hunter but to check out his will."

SD Enterprises needs your help. In order to scientifically test the theory that Eric Spanker Thomson is indeed the luckiest general on earth we are asking his opponents to rate his luck from one to ten. Yes our very own spononometer folks. Our good friend HH will collect scores. A total score of 40 or more will put the hypothesis to bed once and for all. SD is predicting a mean of 7 from ten totalling a stonking 42 on the spononometer!

Funeral speech rather, if you do not make it out of Rome.

Where has all the banter gone? Simon - you're usually good value and Don, where are ya? Can it be that everyone simply agrees with Spotted Dog Productions predictions?

Like JM I've now looked up the more off the wall army picks and reckon there could be a lot of head on collisions as well as some inelegant dancing around. Makes it really hard to figure whether a big score will be needed for a share of the silverware or some winning draws and a couple of big wins.

Could be some cagey games early on .........

Ah the thing about later armies though is they're small, which makes them brittle! However they do throw out lots of shooting dice and we all know that we can roll the inevitable 1 for death rolls!.

I suspect there will be a lot of finished games but the dice gods will have the final say in a few games

Unlike John who has been boning up on his opponents potential armies and best terrain types, I have been conducting daily sacrifices to the Dice Gods so they let my Swedes into combat undisrupted and with no (or maybe even only one) base losses. Just debating whether it's worth a final sacrifice of SWMBO - not sure I want Britcon that much, as she's not been a bad wife and she lets me out to play with my toys and never complains when I buy a new army (No darling - I've had these Amazonions for years! Honestly  ). I'm just going to have to rely on the already sacrificed Pork Pie and Scotch Egg to get me though!

Happy journeys (yes even back from Rome!)

Don

Hi Folks

I hope you all have a thoroughly excellent competition. I shall be cheering on for Charles (my practise partner for many years) and watching how Keith & Simon do with much interest (Go those Sudanese...).

I have decided to play ADLG this year after being used as a FOGR speed bump by all and sundry for many years lol. I suspect Simon will end up in the top 3 but there will be tough games as Hunter and John are very good players and always do well at Britcon.

Good luck to you all and see you later today!

Richard

Seconded re luck to Richard. Thankfully Mrs Young was there last year to witness that Richard played himself into a good position versus me but was blanked totally by the dice Gods. We will miss you old pal.

So you are into game 4 or 3 if you turned up late on Friday so what is the score. Some of us could not make it to Britcon but want to know if the Aussie is winning.

Here you are:

Note that due to the way that the software does its rounding there are a couple of scores that look out of sequence.

Nice to see an unusual army in the top three. I hope Keith can keep it up.

Tim will publish the results for all periods but here are the Fog R ones:

Congratulations to John on retaining the title, to Fredrik for a very good second despite missing the first game and to Don for third after a bit of a break from competition.

Many thanks also to Keith for taking on the umpiring responsibilities and to everyone for a good event that was trouble free from the organisational side.

As ever the numbers that do not follow the traditional sequence are caused by the way that the BHGS software rounds things up and down. Scores are actually calculated to many places of decimals. Unfortunately the secrets of the infernal workings of the macros are lost in the mists of time. I know enough to be able to feed data in and have something relatively sensible come out, but make no pretence of knowing how it actually happens,

Hi Fredric, good to see you again.

Can you pass on these authors' names to Fredrik as per our chat on Saturday:

Robert Wilton for the Comptrollerate General novels

James Wilde for the Hereward novels

See you next year.
