Get this folks. PJ versus the three times on the bounce German champion in the last game. PJ is 13 points to the good so can afford a 12 point swing to win. Last bound called. It's 4 to PJ, 16 to Mr Germany. Mr G's knights hit PJ's light horse in the flank as they evade. Light horse disrupt and lose a base at impact. PJ rolls a 10 for cohesion. It's enough. Melee time. 4-1 to Mr G. PJ rolls 5 on the death roll and - you guessed it - 12 for the cohesion roll. SD wishes to congratulate PJ on his tournament win and will officiate at his Schiltron dice check!

BREAKING NEWS
SDP can at last share the forecast podium players. In a largely footslogging field it looks likely that the laurels will be snatched by something hard hitting and with that in mind SDP is predicting a podium placing for ever young Graeme Carroll and his Futile Catalan/Clowns of Aragon combo. Fast moving, best of breed spears and rock hard tin men - ouch! Never to be discounted is the crafty northerner Tob Raylor who has about faced from his recent foot sloggers to take up again with the Turkish delights of Ottomans. A little Ottomania rustiness won't be holding this fellah back! Finally and completing the triumvirate SDP really rates the chances of the Munro. He fell under Magua's knife in last years Schiltron so will be eager to excel - and has the army to do it. Copied from Mr Scottish Wargames himself, George Dick, JM has refined the offering and will be rerring to go.
So there you have it folks, your 1,2,3.
Anyone think differently?

away'n'bileyirheid ...... we all know you are the favourite. The PreDictOMeter is never wrong. French Fancies are all right for a nibble but they're never enough to sustain.

BREAKING NEWS FROM THE DAWG
There is a nasty rumour gaining currency that the "only for fun" one may be hot footing it North as we speak to cram in some pre Schiltron practice with the "blue painted ones". Erm that's Perth Wargames Club - not the Queen's 11, aka Glasgow Rangers.
Can it be true? Would the Baytown Buccaneer plumb such depths? (see what I did there?), would the Furher of Fun stoop to such chicanery to maintain his iron like grip on Scotland's premier wargames comp?
SDP customs control are on high alert and reports back to SDP central will be shared - the public have a right to know - you know!

A very gentlemanly game last night ended in a fitting draw. On another table SD and the BB battled it out with Thracians and Spartacusians to another draw with most of the action in the last half hour. We called it a day at 2130 both of us having been u early doors. All in all a great way to spend a few hours. Bring on the basho!

Thanks for another great weekend George.
I'd also like to thank my opponents Mike, Hunter, Jim and Alan for 4 great games.
Plus special mention in dipatches for Jim whose dice throwing was the one of the worst I'd ever seen which resulted in the early collapse of his army.
