@Horst
I remember Battle of Britain mod used branching option that could be selected on map between scenarios. Point was to add two scenario names to the same branch. Not sure was something changed regarding it since then.
Code: Select all
[BRANCHES]
0 = unit_demonstrations, Battle_of_Britain
1 = Battle_of_Britain

I tried this in my custom Blitzkrieg campaigns, but could not get it to work. Would have been a perfectly simple solution though.
I'll check it out again, maybe I did something stupid the last time

Ahem yes, a simple comma and here we go with branching on the campaign map… works even with Blitz39-40, for example Poznan and Danzig Corridor North. Only the ring positions have to be adjusted for such branch. You can even use more than two scenarios for branching as long as the rings don’t overlap too much.
Too bad I forgot about BoB! I hadn’t installed and played it for a long time because I don’t like to be nagged by the mod launcher.
Thanks for the hint, uran21, and ten whips for Erik!

I'll revisit my Blitzkrieg campaigns and assign one branch for each of the ten whips. Ouch...

Thanks to captainachab for fixing/improving objectives and other stuff.
Replaced the large Norway scenario with a Trondheim scenario. The plan is to add selectable Oslo, Narvik, Bergen and Kristiansand scenarios.

I currently play your Blitzkrieg 39-40 v. 4.0. But when I copy any other file i.e. Blitzkrieg 41-42(folder which includes the scenario-files) into "mod"-folder, it doesn't appear in the "custom-content"-section, neither scenario, nor campaign.
What am I doing wrong?

That's because you don't install these files in the Mods folder. They go into the Campaigns folder. Below is a picture of me dragging the Blitzkrieg41-42E folder out of the zip file and into C:\Users\Bruce\Documents\My Games\Order of Battle - WW2\Campaigns (I use Windows):

Dankeschön for your answer! So I put the 39-40 files right by accident!

You have very nice campaigns, but how do you make them? I'm a scenario editor myself, and I can't figure out how to create my own custom campaign.
Any help? Thanks!

The best way to learn how to create a campaign is to start with duplicating an existing one and replace the info (and scenarios of course) needed for your own campaign.
The campaign-specific data is in the data.cmp and text_english.txt files in the campaign folder.
I first started way back by creating a Japanese version of the official bootcamp campaign.

Went on the Kokoda Trail for a little distraction from Europe.
0Gorari: Capture VP event trigger for defending the Kokuda exit doesn't work on scenario end. Only on Any Event or Turn Start can work for the scenario-end condition. This isn't a flip-flop trigger anyway if the player can only trigger and finish this objective once on scenario-end, so Turn Start should be enough.
PS: 1Kokoda has the same trigger problem in the end. I don't want to spoil myself by checking every scenario now, so please recheck all triggers there!

All these defend-until-turn-x triggers don’t work either well in the Kokuda campaign.
They all demand that a Capture VP Event occurs. This still worked in 0Gorai where the player definitely looses VPs, but it’s possible in 1Kokoda that no VP ever gets captured. On scenario-end, it’s possible that no Aus-trigger will complete these objectives.
Also, you reward RPs for these defend-until-turn objectives whenever a capture VP event occurs until turn-x. On every capture event, you could gain more and more RPs this way which I guess is not intended.
I suggest you change these Aus-triggers to happen only once on the specifically required turn as Turn Start event. Should the Jap capture-trigger ever happen until turn-x then disable the Aus-trigger next to the failed objective state.
I know, these triggers can really cook someone’s brain. I think I’m going to switch to the Marines campaign until these triggers are fixed. I like to play and not only edit the game for a while.

Erik, as the one person who's scenarios and campaigns i really enjoy, i have a small (cough. cough

) request (suggestion). Now with a bit of reworking being done to naval combat in Kriegsmarine, could you pretty please consider making a US naval campaign for the Pacific? It is what brought me to this game in the first place and actually the only reason i even bother with it at all. With your skills i feel certain you could create something really special, cause frankly most of the DLCs and other stuff has so far been rather disappointing.

With the new submarine mechanics I would really like to see an all sub campaign. I have an idea of converting the board game Silent Victory to an OOB campaign where you command a single sub for the whole Pacific war. There would be 15 patrols to cover the entire war from December 1941 to August 1945. There would be pre made convoys of merchant ships with or without escort as well as capital ship encounters and the scenarios would pull from this list of targets at random. Some scenarios might have some scripted events as well such as Ultra intercept telling the player to move to a certain point to intercept a ship or convoy. Unfortunately, family and work prevent me from attempting such a thing but I would love to see Erik or another talented creator make an attempt.

Thank you.
I have a US naval campaign on my to-do list. The forthcoming KM-campaign with the naval enchancements may warrant a sea trip. No promises though, as there are other stuff in the queue.

prattaa, go for a sub campaign. It should not take too much work map wise
But it would probably be difficult to make it interesting enough for the casual OOB-player as the subject is very specific.
Depends on the variety of missions, of course.
