Well - maybe not a "creditable" 5. We are after all planning on inflicting John Munro on our English cousins. Fresh from his tour of the Danube and Rhine he has some even stranger ideas than usual ......

Well on rankings we Scots are up against it when facing our esteemed Southern opponents. I may also be up against it when facing the less esteemed Hunter Hope. The spotted dog really fancies himself this year. He might not be like the dog with a bone but certainly one with an infectious disease.

I know I said I'd apologise for inflicting you on Britcon John but there's no need to call yourself an infectious disease!

The one with the beard, dark glasses and towel round his head (at least after Tim's late nite entertainments...)

Anyone expecting the "alternative" evening entertainment suggested by some of our more degenerate contributors is likely to be disappointed!
I will however be bringing a selection of board games of the kind that go well with beer.

I do apologise for Britcon John's remarks. It beseemest him not to sorely press our umpire. I fear for him on the 50/50s - or if there is any justice the 80/20s. Rest assured Kevin - much as it pains me to say it - we would all understand any harsh rulings meeted out to BJ.

For those of you who are driving up and planning how much cash to spend on beer over the weekend, looking at the latest version of the Charles St Parking website,
http://www.estates.manchester.ac.uk/ser ... /carparks/ it says charges are :
Monday-Friday
up to 3 hours - £3.00
3 — 6 hours - £5.00
6 — 10 hours - £8.00
10 — 24 hours - £10.00
Short stay parking - 16:00 - 23:59* - £2.00
Saturday and Sunday until 23:59* - £2.00
*PLEASE NOTE THAT IF YOU STAY AFTER MIDNIGHT THEN THE £10 OVERNIGHT CHARGE WILL APPLY (EXCEPT ON SATURDAYS)
This seems to suggest that for someone arriving on Friday and leaving Sunday evening the total charge will be:
Friday £10 (the "overnight" rate, which also covers the full day on Friday)
Saturday £2 (daily rate, no overnight charge on Saturday/Sunday)
Sunday £2 (daily rate)
= £14
Hope this helps
Tim

Thanks to Jim, here is the Pre-Britcon Ranking update.
Both Jim and Ben could possibly overtake Alasdair at the top.
And before Hunter says anything, none of us are fooled by the low rankings of the Scottish contingent.
