The downside of letting Italy go is perhaps not so much a strategic one, but more for the resource that you loose. You loose half of stocked oil at the surrender of Italy, right? That can be the most punishing one for you, so maybe it can be worth sacrificing some manpower in order to save the little oil you have left?

Think you must start garrison the cities in Holland and France so the allies wont make an easy paradrop and capture a port. Hopefully it will take 3 turns more for him to take England and then you only have to withstand a few turns in fair weather to deny him a foothold in France.

This is not looking as great as I pictured it. I thought that you had a real chance of achieving a Major Victory, because you really punished your opponent in 1939-1942, but it seems that the Allies will soon recapture London and they should be able to recapture Paris, too. I think that you will win a Minor Victory. Nice, but you were aiming for the Major Victory, right? I think that Diplomaticus showed good skill and it is admirable that he didn't quit in 1942-1943.

you are quite right, i am playing against a skillfull opponent.
My major error is simple. I was on the offensive for 3-4 turns in Russia, burning 150 a turn there. I should never have done that, since that oil would have been useful to finish off the fledging allied landing and fleet in 1943 when i had them on the ropes. Instead, since mid 1943, i have been on oil save mode.
In retrospect i think that the only way to win a major victory with Fortress Europa is with a lake of oil. Also i believe that building a fleet nmight not be the greatest idea. Next time i will use the PP for something else.
anyway it doesnt matter i will still keep germany and probably Italy and win a victory, but most importantly me and Diplomaticus very much enjoyed our game together.
Now, i would like someone to try a Fortress Europa strategy against me. Any volonteers? that will be my next game.
This result is also a testament to the allied power in GS 2.1, it simply cannot be exhausted!

Ha ha ha....no way, think its a loosing strategy.
I think the success of this strategy is decided when Sealion is under way. If you can delay the Axis enough then they will have trouble for the rest of the game

Sure there are a few thing you could have done differently but the allies also. Your skillful execution with the element of surprise gave you a good head start. During this game England was taken much to easy so you could have your way everywhere else on the map.
I think this is a very difficult strategy to try...
Are you so confident this strategy works that you would try even if the player knows it is coming?

YES.
It matters not since if the Germans want to concentrate on the British for 2 years, there isnt much they can do about it.
But i would never call a shot like this since it would completly remove the element of surprise that i excel in.

You dont think other operations will be delayed if England is taken in 41 instead of 40?

Yes, probably, but i dont see why i wouldnt take England in 40. You only need to take the south in 1940 and its fine.

Well my friend its because you stop your games with me.
Its not that i dont like you or anything else, its just that i like to finish the games i play.
So if you dont mind, i will keep looking for a challenger, OK?
No hard feelings on my part Moriss, just not confident we can ever finish a game together.

Our game is stopped by the well known reasons . So please don't think I stop the game . I always like to finish the game as I always did . So I am not the one won't finish the game . Or we can make a contract that if we will have new game that No one can quit the game whatever anything include bug will happen .The one who quit the game means surrender .
If you really have no hard feeling on your part , I will promise to finsh the game . I just want to show how to defeat your Fortress Europe . If you do not want to give me this chance ,Maybe you want a easier challenger .I do understand . It is up to you &Any of your choice will be ok for me . Good luck to the new challenger !
(BTW , my friend , wrong spelling of my name again
