There might be a problem in adapting RSM Redux to SS-GTPG and SS mod...
You know that my SE(SS) units have a special movement sound with Panzerlied.
Now that we have a lot of new SS units, won't this sound too much saturating, because we're going to repeat a lot?
What should I do? Let these new SS units with the normal sounds without the lieder? Or give them the same movement sounds, with the lieder, as the other SE(SS)?

Just my 2 cents: keep the lieder for the infantry units. I can imagine hearing it being sung by marching infantry but the turret tends to muffle the sound coming from inside the tanks et al.

Sounds like a good idea El Condoro! The music does tend to get old real quick when you have a few of thee SS or SE units on the battlefield!

That's precisely what I'm always afraid with the special movements sounds and what I call saturation. With Winterkrieg, Afrika Korps and UMSC campaign, I've reduced the number of times that the special sounds will sound.
Yes that might be a good idea, El_Condoro.
Another idea would be to mix normal with special sounds. We can have a pool up to three different sounds.
So I could mix two normal movements with one special, in that case it would be reduced the number of chances that you would end up listening that special sound.
Which one is better?

Three different sounds would be nice, it brings variation. Especially to those scenario's with a larger number of units (let's say 250 units).
But ofcourse, what the effect will be on memory drainage, that i don't know. Nobody likes their game to freeze in the midst of battle.

Here's my recomendations/2 cents:
I would use any "SS" marching songs for the units that have SS in their name. ie:(erika, horst wessel, florian geyer..etc). The units that have the SS preface are the "true" Waffen SS units. I know the songs are contreversial and some are illegal in Germany,,but then again so is the whole Waffen SS and any and all 3rd Reich/Nazi symbology/insignia. That is the very reason why I went to the trouble of making the Heer SE Mod,,so that people who wouldn't or couldn't use the SS Panzer Corps Mod had a full arsenal of elite units.
You could even use the old red alert 2 "hell march",,there is actually a re-done/touched up youtube video that shows the Leibenstandarte marching to it.
I would use the lieds for the the SE units,,as these are elite units of the Heer and Luftwaffe,,and they are not gonna be as numerous due to the fact that they are awarded by the game and not bought.
IE: use the Panzer Lied for the Panzers,,the Infantry Leid for the grunts...etc
I would do nothing for the vanilla units beings that they are just plain-jane regular line formations.
I would also mix them up ,,,so to speak
The reason I combined the two was that people could buy elite units,,but could still have a sense of accomplishment when they got awarded the bonus units and that every ground unit had a corresponding Waffen SS and SE unit.
Anyway those a just my personal recomendations and just a little bit of why I did the mods.

The Elite Units Mod+GTPG= SS-GTPG By Airbornemongo101 and Nikivdd
The first beta is available. Get it here:
http://www.gamefront.com/files/21215695 ... -01-12.rar
SS-GTPG is a merger of the SS Panzer Mod, SE Heer Mod and the GTPG campaign. This is a mutual effort to bring more fun to the Panzer Corps gameplay.
This beta version includes every GTPG scenario released sofar in one single campaign tree.
The vanilla e-file is upgraded with SS Elite units who have better stats than the regular Heer units. The SS and SE units have their own camo for better distinction during gameplay.
For every regular groundunit there is now a SS elite unit and a SE bonus unit.
Do take notice that this is a beta and prestige has not been optimised yet. More updates will be released as Airbornemongo and myself finish (parts of) our seperate projects.
This download also includes the historical insignia mod and thus not to be loaded into GME seperately!
Install and changelog are included in the download. We are looking forward to your feedback, suggestions and whatever opinions you might have about SS-GTPG.
Thank you.

Thanks Nico,,,,the effort you put into the beta is awesome and I'm very flattered that you included my stuff into your mod...Thank You.
Btw,,,I did the new percentage prices (10%-20% depending on class) for the SS into the Elite Units Mod (I have to do the new prices on the old SS Panzer Corps stand alone mod,,but like I said above the Elite Units Mod has the new pricing). The Elite Units Mod is all done,,,unless of course you want me to do something else to it. I would be happy to oblige.
@VPaulus
I just had a massive brain-storm
What about saying the hell w/ the music for movment ,keep the vanilla movement sounds,, your mechanical movement sounds, and the combat sounds and make background music. Even though the SS-GTPG is a mod it is still part of the Panzer Corps game and the background music is very lacking .
What about putting the Panzer Lied,,Florian Geyer (if you can get Florian Geyer. I really really love the Florian Geyer Division's song,,it's moving and stirring,,there is a version available on youtube) and what-ever other songs into the background music that play while the game is playing.
Can you make "game music" just for the mod or even the main game?
If you can make about 6-7 seven songs for background music (the more the better) I think it be awesome and very unique,,if you can and if or if you want to tackle that.

I still want to do something with SS units. But maybe later, because I've to finish first other sound projects.
As for the music, it's easy to replace the vanilla music, although I'm one of the few that must love Panzer Corps music.
I could do it for you later. But the game only supports 3 music tracks plus a menu track. Of course you can add more than one music to one track. But I'm sure that not everyone would like it. I'd suggest for you to make it optional.
We can talk later in your thread about that.

Hi Guys, I started giving the mod a play through. Nice work.
I took a peek at the units with All EQP to see the new icons and the one for the SE IIIJ/1 wasnt showing up for me in the purchase screen, the entry is there but there is no unit graphic. If purchased, it is invisible in game.
It image file is there however, so I opened
SE_Panzer_IIIJ-1.png in Ifranview and resaved it and all is ok now.
It could just be on my end I think one of my memory chips is going bad, but I figure it couldnt hurt to mention it since it's easy to check.
Hopefuly I'm not wasting anyones time. If I am, sorry, my intent is to help.
I like what you guys have done here and even more so that it's a co-op effort.
nikivdd, I like the ROR feture. Very cool.
I'll be back later when I finish, to babble a bit.
Oh and
Thanks, nikivdd & airbornemongo101 for getting this out to us and to everyone whos stuff made it look and sound good too.
edit-(I think my problem with the image file is from a bug in the 7-zip 9.25 apha i was using...)

I installed this mod and had a few problems. The sound got stuck in loops for soviet aircraft in scenario 21 turn 1. I had to use task manager to get out of the loop.
I also noticed it was counting SE units as being deployed not as free deploys.
I did install this over the previous version and I had installed the initial version and then started up my game from pack 4 and had no problems so I'm not sure if the problems had to do with trying continue my game with different instals or if it is with pack 5, which I just started.

You're welcome shooty,I checked the png. in my copy and it appears ok,,both in game and in the folder.
I'll keep my eye on this issue and see if anybody else has any problems w/ the png.

I think, that's because the equipment table was changed.
And the SE units being deployed not as free, it's because airborne changed the name SS to SE, I think.
Initially Panzer Corps, before releasing, the special units were called (as they should) as SS. Only in the later stages of development the devs and the publishers had to change the SS name to SE, in order to avoid problems with the game commercialization in Germany. However the graphics were already named as SS, and stayed that way.
So in your game the SE units are counting as SS units. Unless you start again the campaign, you'll have problems.
That's my theory, however I'm no equipment file or scenario creator expert.

It's a conflict w/ the equipment data file,,,you hare going to have more numerous and bigger problems in the future.
It's the different installs and the fact you overwrote the old equipement file w/ the new one,,,there are over 300 new entries in the Elite Units Mod and it's SS-GTPG equivalent
The old vanilla SE bonus units are gone ,,I should have maybe been more clear in that regard and when the full SS-GTPG comes out we will make sure to make that annoucement,,as well as the fact to make virgin installs
Some of either the Waffen SS or new SE Heer units may have the same ID in the equipment file as the old equipment file versions or even the vanilla equip. file,,,but they are no longer the same unit.
I hate to say this,,,but you have to unstall and the re-install everthing and start over.
Use the Elite Units Mod=GTPG on the fresh install.
I have been running the Elite Units Mod in the vanilla game and the DLC's as well as using the GME to enable the new SS-GTPG beta and have no conflicts or bugs.........so far
