What i need is to know exactly where to copy an paste the AO mod. Using a flash drive to install. I have looked all over the forum but cant find the correct path.
Non-steam version should go into the Documents > My Games > Panzer Corps 2 > Mods > InsertModNameHere

Greetings Generals,

I am quite pleased with the reception 1940 Redux Part 1 has received.

I want to share some updates.

A lot of the images seen during the Spanish Civil War and 1939 are going to be updated. Rick is working on this for the PC1 remake mod then will redo the graphics for Storm Over Europe. The new graphics look quite nice.

Image

In the mean time, map development has begun on 1940 Part 2. Here is a preview of Berlin. I ended up taking the Berlin map from Axis Operations, tidying up the terrain and city and expanding it. This will be a unique mission for the player as they will control Allied bombers to bomb berlin. This is mostly being done because it is difficult to get the AI to do what you want.

Image

This Berlin mission will lead the this campaign's Fuehrer Loyalty or Disloyalty token choice; as you are given a mission to bomb London in retaliation. You can either bomb London and strike terror or hit military objectives.

There is an internal timeframe for a release date, but will have a more concrete one as progress continues.

Can't wait to see you over the skies of England!

replaying SOE. wanted to try it with the Elite factor. I'm in 39 next is Battle of Warsaw. question. if I don't spend 7 cp's for Wittman as a recon, will I still be able to pick him later as an Artillery? since I've saved 7 cps, do I miss anything by not slogging thru Warsaw Battle? thanks

You really don't miss anything, Wittmann right now though is only offered in Warsaw.

you think 7 cps is a steep price for Recon Hero or might as well grab him as I should have plenty cps left to accept looming offers?

I played the SOE 39 and purposefully saved Elite Troops to stockpile for the harder battles in the 1940 but they didn't carry over?

Carried over just fine here.

It isn't carry over, they show up turn 2.

You will only get prestige for capturing Oslo's elite reward.

Greetings Generals,

Today we will be taking look at Stoerangriffe (nuisance raids) and Kanalkampf (shipping) missions. There will be two of each missions.

Here is a look one of the missions, Plymouth. This mission is quite large at 60x65 hexes. I will say while creating the make, I create the objectives and they are subject to change based on play testing.

Image
Stoerangriffe: Plymouth

Here is a look at a Kanalkampf mission. These missions will be quite larger than Stoerangriffe missions and quite similar in a way. The Kanalkampf missions will feature the same terrain but expanded upon in dimensions. While Plymouth is 60x65, the expanded version of the map is 110x65.

Image
Kanalkampf: Lyme Bay

While these maps are quite large and nearing the definition of gigantic, to me this better show the scope and intensity of the Battle of Britain.

I can't wait to see you in the skies!

Hello Generals,

Just providing a brief update on how progress is going. Following up the other day's briefing on Stoerangriffe (nuisance raids) and Kanalkampf (shipping) missions.

This is a look at:

Stoerangriffe: Hull (55x50)

Kanalkampf: North Sea (75x100)

Last but not least, here is an early screenshot of what I'm currently working on. This will take place at the Bristol Channel.

Can't wait to see you on the skies and maybe grounds of Britain!

Hello Generals,

I recently got a new purchase (28'' 4k Resolution gaming monitor), which will definitely assist in making maps. I liked my old primary monitor, which is now my secondary one, but the standard 1920x1080 resolution wasn't the greatest for mapping. With the new monitor I can easily see more of the map. Which will make things better in terms of accuracy and hopefully less time correcting mistakes made during terrain stages.

Image
Here is Malaga Offensive from the Spanish Civil War, a 31x28 scenario which easily fits with room to spare.

Image
Here is Kanalkampf: North Sea (75x100), while I don't get the whole map I get most of it on my screen.

Not that I'm terraining right now. Rick recently finished the new briefing and hero images and I'm going through all the missions and updating the imagery. I decided not just to update the images, but I am updating the briefings themselves and correcting a lot of mistakes (and probably making some). I'm also removing a lot of unnecessary dialog.

Image
When objectives are displayed in briefing, the briefings will show up with this map.

Image
On the left is an old briefing and on the right is the new style. No more buggy-eyed Franco. Side note, the missing player name is because it is a "test" from the editor where as the left is from an existing save.

I hope all the work can be completed in August, and there should be a patch with the updated graphics, briefings, and other bug fixes to all the campaigns.

Have a great day!

Hello Generals, just a brief update.

Working briefings is always a dangerous thing for me. I am a terrain person at heart. I love designing terrain and gameplay maps. I enjoy digging into history and seeing what existed then compared to now and why.

With that said...I've always been bothered by the 1939 campaign.

I do not believe I ever gave 1939 a good enough treatment compared to SCW and definitely compared to 1940 Part 1.

In the release of 1940 Part 1, I did touch up big battles Warsaw, Kampinos Forest, and Battle of the Bzura.

I recently began updating the rest of 1939, working on Poland North first. I will be adding elite objectives; these will be completely optional and not reward unique heroes. You will not have to replay the campaign if you don't want to. The elite objectives will offer rare equipment and increased numbers of limited production tanks (early Panzer 3s and 4s).

In a later update, I will post screenshots here.

You can always follow Grondel's PC1 remake, AORedone, and I on discord.

"Gnosport"... TERRAIN is of the utmost concern... as it determines upcoming Strategy and Unit-Placement!.

"Napoleon" once said that what was important... was "Location"-"Location"-"Location". Therefore!... by as closely recreating the true past historical Terrain as closely as possible... this will then enable a more realistic recreation and feel for the engagement that is to come ahead!.

It's Good to see that you are such a "Dedicated Historical Terrain Fanatic!".
