I just noticed that campaign victory may be near for the Roman faction, since the current victory point standing (taking the three concluded engagements this round into considerations) is:
- Carthaginian: -1 (+5 at the beginning of the round, but three losses reducing score by 3 x -2 = -6)
- Roman: +28 (+16 at the beginning of the round, but three victories increasing score by 3 x +4 = +12)
And the campaign
ends as soon as one faction can claim victory through having fulfilled at least one of the following conditions (whichever is the earlier):
- The number of victory points is at least +50.
- The number of victory points is at least +30 higher than the other faction's.
- Control over the capital of the other faction is gained.
- All armies within the other faction are irrevocably eliminated.
- The strength of all armies within the other faction is below 1200 FP.

In light of recent events, the generals of Carthage have unanimously concluded that there is no path forward and concede the campaign to Rome. Congratulations to the Roman team and special thanks to Kronenblatt for his efforts in creating and administering the campaign.

Ok, thanks for participating, guys!
To you all, Romans and Carthaginians alike:

Big thanks to Kronenblatt for organizing this; it was fun as all his tourneys are! Nice playing with/against everyone else too. Hope to see you all in other future competitions.^^
Main takeaways:
The Good:
1. Battles were fun, as Roman on Carthage armies are great to use against each other. Some people thought the Carthaginians were under-powered; that I'm not sure of but can be tweaked if needed.
2. Fighting on one side (Romans for me) in a large Punic War themed campaign was also fun; trying to kick Carthage out of Sicily or take it's islands; basically the strategic side of it helped make it interesting.
3. Playing with several other people on a team. Team dynamic and the hope your fellow generals were successful in their sections/areas made it more exciting.
Could be improved:
1. Navies. It might have just been me but it seemed embarking/disembarking was bulking/time consuming and ultimately didn't do much in the campaign. Again it could have just been me and I wasn't paying attention.^^
2. Sieges. They were too long, and I know we tried fixing that but that was late game and the results weren't clear. Hopefully the new way will be better or tweaked a bit again.
Suggestions:
1. Perhaps make taking a city more "devastating" to the other team who loses it. I'm not sure how, as you don't want it TOO severe, but I think it would make it more strategic and fun, trying to knock out key cities as opposed to often just finding the nearest army and attacking it (still fun though)!
Conclusion:
Great tournament that I think has a good, solid main framework that doesn't need too much revision, unless you are a wiser man than me and have great ideas, which I welcome!^^
Anyone who can add to this or refute something I said in mistake, feel free to!
Thanks,
Aetius

Hi Kronenblatt and sorry for the delayed answer.
First thing I have to say is a big thanks for managing as well your campaign. It's a pure pleasure to play under your ruling.
Not good enough in english to write a big comment about VVII rules, so here are just some tought.
1) Playing on big hex map is very good.
2) Mvt rules are solid.
3) Siege was too difficult but new version seems good.
4) Navy is a plus but on a strategical point of view but less fun to play.
5) Fighting always with the same army against same army is a little boring... in the end of campaign motivation was low for me.
6) Overal strategical situation lead to some defensive battle. Sorry for my adversarys of the Enna battle. If there is also a difficult map with lot's of rought hill it became very, very hard to attack. Don't have solution to that because overall situation and link with tactical is why we play campaign...
7) All the opponent was very friendly and it was a pleasure to play with them.
So thanks again Kronenblatt.

In regards to the 5th comment, I didn't mind playing the same army but I can understand your point, and perhaps the armies could field allies? Maybe both Romans and Carthaginians could pick from 3-5 allies to help out; it might help with the worse map terrain types as you could field a more flexible army and have a bit of a different army every time.

Thanks, guys, for flavour! Regarding comment #5, this is something that I'd like to remedy in
Vae Victis III - Bellum Italicum, allowing for different types of allies to be used.
