Also, Utopian will counter attack Tuam in the province of their choice, thanks to free passage granted by the Covenenter Empire.

And, the Utopians were defeated in their first attempt to retake Samnium and are awaiting word from PG on how many points they have left before launching a second battle. Batesmotel can give the current body count.

Results posted in LW battle thread along with my calculation of remaining points for both of us. We can start again or wait for the official points from PG.

Did anyone tell you about the holiday hazard rule? You have a 33% chance of losing a randomly selected province each week you are away. :) :)

In that case can I make it clear that I am not on holiday for the next two weeks and my silence until the 15th will have nothing to do with being on a bike in France but is purely due to the annual Tuam fair and far too much ale.

Hypoxia regrets to inform New Albia, Morbious, and Utopia that our northern borders need some adjusting.

New Albia, password: yesyou

Morbius, password: yourturn

Utopia, password: youtoo

Hypoxia notes that the invasion of Revoltus, a result of internal politics, prompts us to inquire into the readjustment of our southern borders as well and invites the forces of Tuam and the Delian Confederacy to join come and 'negotiate' our claims to extending our southern borders further southwards.

Tuam, password: heyyou

Delians, password: nomayo

Cheers!

Peace between Arrakis and Utopia

The Utopian peace party outraged by an unwanted war provoked for no reason other than the bloodlust of the Dark OverLord (PG) have succeeded in achieving a peace with the noble Arrakians. In this endeavour they were enthused through the use of a Queen card by Lord Ironclad and his contribution to the Utopian retirement fund (1000 money).

And so the loyal populace of Haik bids farewell to Deeter and his forces and their transitory glory and cheers the great Arrakian army, once more in unchallenged possession.

Caught like a helpless puppet between rival factions in Utopia, Deeter Magnus has no choice but to graciously accept a peace settlement with Lord Ironclad of Arrakis. It is unfortunate only in that Arrakis fields a refreshingly Republican Roman army for a proper ancient battle -- no gimicky hordes or shooty armies on that field of glory. We now return home to ponder our next move.

The third One Book - One Edinburgh citywide reading campaign was part of the UK's largest reading campaign - The Lost World Read 2009. Together with Glasgow, Bristol and other regions of England, our city read Edinburgh-born author Arthur Conan Doyle's tail of dinosaurs and exploration, The Lost World.
