The last automatic promotion of the season goes to Macedonczyk and his (so far) unbeaten Assyrians who cannot be caught now after also unbeaten sunnyboy was held to a score draw by paulmcneil. Well played Macedonczyk! :D

by Nijis
Division B

Nijis (Sassanids) defeats lydianed (Moors) 61-53.

The javelins, oh, the javelins. Sometimes the Persians charged and caught the Berber skirmishers. Sometimes they failed to catch them, and were isolated, surrounded and pierced by a thousand darts. First the Persians were ahead, then the Moors, then finally the Persians came from behind to pull off a squeaker of a victory.

by Macedonczyk
Division B

Macedonczyk(Assyrian+Egyptian) beats Sunnyboy (Syracusan) 53:22

Syracusan were on the hill. On the Assyrians side, there was a little rough terrain in the center
Both sides preferred to fight on their territories, but for the Assyrians an uphill attack on the hoplites would be suicide.
The Assyrians tried to wing their opponents, especially since they had more horses. Syracusan found a weak point between my right wing and the center and decided to strike there. Then the stronger left wing of the Assyrians hit the weak right wing of Syracusan and the center retreated to the rough terrain making it difficult for the Hoplites to attack. Unexpectedly although Syracusan had fewer horses they chased Assyrian horses on my right wing. The Assyrians won mainly because the left wing quickly dealt with the enemy and could help the center.

Thanks for the game!

There is no usual Sunday round-up this week. I will wait until this evening's deadline and then get the adjudications done for any match that is unfinished (there are just 3 at the moment) and then I will do an end of season report with final league tables and charts. Anders will do the new FOG2DL ratings and Medals chart this week and I will get on with the statistics and records.
