Fluidwill - Roman 199 BC-106 BC defeated Fudwuppel - Roman 280 BC-220 BC 51 to 23.

An infantry slog. Pretty close until the end, with a big push by Fluidwill.

Kashtronomical - Median 836 BC-627 BC with Assyrian 681 BC-609 BC as ally defeated Fudwuppel Roman 199 BC-106 BC 42 to 14.

Kashtronomical placed five (!) elephants in the center. Fudwuppel was forced to deal with that, allowing Kashtronimical to destroy Fudwuppel's flanks. It was not pretty. The elephants were eventually defeated fut the cost was horrible.

Good games, both of them. Thank you, Fluideill and Kashtronomical.

I hate elephants.

I did not see anything for Fudwuppel versus DirtyMark. Is there a result posted? Else I should set up a match.

I had thought I had won a few turns earlier but LC fought back and at one stage I thought he may have taken the lead. Great game and well played LC.

My Romans were better than his Romans and it was a good stand up fight, closer than the result implies.

Geffalrus: Fudwuppel already uploaded this. Leaving this as reminder since I keep mixing up your two names, and don't want to get confused later. Sounds like a nice solid Roman civil war match.

Of course he can. And he did. They were awfully effective. But, still... Ouch. lol

Sorry, I misposted the wrong opponent here. Should have been Fudwuppel - Roman 280 to 220 BC.

But yes I had no elephants, just every kind of bow unit including 2 heavy chariot bows!

You are correct, I am mistaken.
I believe it was wzfcns, in the Later Medieval group with all those elephants.

Your archers and the terrible terrain, not to mention rather poor tactics on my part, destroyed me.
It was a good fight, though, wasn't it?

Aetius (Palmyran) defeats desertedfox (Thracian) 60-55

The Palmyrans thought things were going well, slowly advancing and shooting up the Thracian lights, and having moderate success in the center and right. But the Thracians broke through on the left, beating up some cavalry and hitting the vulnerable massed archers (who were so close to rough but foolishly didn't move in there). The Palmyrans were close to defeat, but luckily the disaster on their left didn't roll up the flank, while more holes were punched through in the center by the legions and cataphracts. A close, tough game indeed! GG and thanks for playing, it was fun.^^

The battle began with favorable terrain on the side of the the Argonese. With good cover and a smatter of hills, the Argonese crossbows held strong against the tartar onslaught of arrow fire and iron hearted steeds. Many low born spear men took the brunt of the tartarian steel, but ultimately the terrain swayed the victory towards the Iberians.
