I like the new style for Soviet infantry type unit icons... I agree with Uzbek, that the big unit card should read "Soviet Red Army" instead of "Russian Red Army".
I specially like the PTRD At rifle unit (I never could make a passable prone infantryman figure!), but I think you should make that prone At gunner figure longer, because it now looks like a dwarf when compared to his kneeling partner (when this last man get on his feet, I thing it would be much taller than the prone soldier).
Also, I think Uzbek is also right about this: Soviet Army troops captured and used LOTS of panzerfaust disposable AT grenade launchers, so, a unit of this type should be included in late war timeframe (I made such a unit sometime ago)
Thanks for the effort!!

OK (captured) panzerfausts.
About the bazooka, internet tells they were used. What kind of (heavier) Soviet made infantry AT weapon did the Soviet use after the PTRD?

Hello Phcas!
Thanks for taking in note of the suggestions that forum members make about the work you show here about your mod. And again (I will never get tired of sayin this!) congratulations to you and your partners for taking such a massive job!
The renewed PTRD infantry AT unit looks much better in my opinion in its present version! As well as all the other members of the new family of infantry type Soviet unit icons.
About late war Soviet infantry AT weapons, the fact is that they never bothered to develop and field any system equivalent to the American Bazooka, neither the British Piat (an evolutionary dead end, I would say) nor the German Panzerfaust. They kept using the heavy caliber At rifles, which were cheap to produce and fired a very powerful catridge for a weapon of its size and weight, and in response to the appearence of heavier armored enemy vehicles in the battlefield, they just grouped a larger number of rifles to concentrate fire against those more protected targets. In fact, from short distances, and when fired against the side armor, Soviet AT rifles were reasonably effective even against the very heavily armored Tiger I tank. So, when facing the much more common Pz IV tanks, I think they felt that there was no need to develop better AT weapos for the infantry troops. This, and of course the fact that Soviet government and high commanding officers never were worried about the lives of their own troops in combat, so why spent more money on new weapons if they could kill a tank in exchange for some more infantrymen with AT rifles?
But, after the war they developed the world famous RPG family of rocket grenade launchers, based on what they could learn about the Panzerfaust and adding some new ideas to improve the concept. I think the first version of such weapon was introduced in 1947 (the RPG-2) if I remember well.

The grenade launcher was not adopted, but continued to be tested in 1939. In January 1940, several Taubin grenade launchers took part in the battles on the Karelian isthmus. For several days it was 40 degrees below zero, but the automatic grenade launchers worked flawlessly.

Hello Uzbek!
Again, thanks for sharing those links... I did not know about the Tubinka automatic grenade launcher. Without doubt, it was a weapon ahead of its time, and much more effective than the useless 50 mm or 2 inch light mortars that the Germans and British started the war with or the 45 mm Italian Brixia launcher.
I wonder why they did not mass-produced such a wepon to put it in service whith the Soviet armed forces, then...
