Another quiet week in Division A but it did see ConstantinIX (Byzantine) lose his first match to improving Questar17 (Ostrogoth) and klayeckles had a very big win to stay second. There was a first defeat for leader hidde (Indian) in Division B at the hands of mid-table paulmcneil (Parthian) which allowed Cunningcairn (Arab City) to close the gap to 7 points with 2 games in hand. At the bottom of the table cromlechi (Roman) is in a precarious position in 7th place having completed all his matches and only collected 9 points while the 3 players below him all have 5 matches left to play. In Division C front-runner IMC (Ancient British) suffered a second consecutive defeat in his last match to post a modest target of 26 points. It still might be enough for automatic promotion though unless his conqueror phoyle3290 can continue with a late run to deny him. phoyle3290 currently needs 14 points from 5 matches to take the top spot from IMC. In Division D there was a crucial victory for edb1815 Breton) over bomber23 (Germanic Horse Tribes) in the promotion race which leaves him just 3 points the leader Garokan (Bedouin) with 2 matches left. Garokan has completed his fixtures. In Division E a defeat for Aetius39 (Palmyran) has left DanZanzibar in a very strong position at the top. MadMaxBot still has a 100% record after 2 matches but will now need to put his skates on to make a challenge in this division. No change in Division F where all of gioe07's (Byzantine) outstanding matches have been awarded to his opponents as he has gone AWOL. hyme (Alan) now needs to win his last 5 matches and accrue 20 points to prevent Warg1 (Arab City) from winning automatic promotion. gioe07 has won the wooden spoon for this season.

He is now 6 points ahead of Nosy_Rat (Frankish) with just 1 match to play against bottom-placed dkalenda (Byzantine). Nosy_Rat has 4 matches left. In Division B 2 wins for Macedonczyk (Byzantine) has moved him into third place behind ConstantinIX (Arab Conquest) who also has a 100% record. Both players look very likely to overtake the current leader schmolywar (Arab Conquest) who only has 1 match left. In Division C a very important win for Challenge1 (Arab Conquest) against Questar17 (Norman) means that any sort of win in his last match against SpeedyCM (Dailami) will be enough to win automatic promotion. Nothing much to report in Division D where Doyley50 (Anglo-Danish) has moved into second place for the time being although bomber23 (Andalusian) is firm favourite to take the runners-up spot. DanZanzibar (Dailami) still heads Division E with Stew101 (Arab Conquest) in hot pursuit. MadMaxBot (Byzantine) is unbeaten in 2 matches and could still make a late challenge. In Division F 2 more defeats for hscic (Lombard) makes it look increasingly likely that he will get the wooden spoon for this section.

A number of players have chances to challenge, the most likely being Macedonczyk (Assyrian) and ninth-placed sunnyboy (Syracusan) who is still unbeaten after 3 matches. ulysisgrunt (Cypriot) is definitely relegated. In Division C the leader in the clubhouse baldrick52 (Kyrenean) is looking increasingly secure with his total of 26 points after sarmation (Phokian) suffered his first defeat in his fifth match. rs2excelsior (Carthaginian) and MadMaxBot (Assyrian) could still make challenges in the second half of the season as they have plenty of matches still to complete.

Division A

klayeckles (persian+arab) defeats Nosy Rat(Hunnic+) 64 to 53

a great matchup...the lead swapped multiple times, the the persians taking an early lead when the elephants caused an early rout of a warband, but then when the hunnic horse archers struck in earnest then charged causing chaos across the battlefield. It looked like the Hunnic tribes might take control--but the battlefield broke into a series of isolated small skirmishes as groups of cavalry faced off with each other. When the elephants finally finished off the last warband the persians took back the lead and they managed to keep ahead of the tribals until they decided they'd had enough...but another round of combat might have swung things in the other direction. A rewarding win, as Nosy has had my number the last couple matches.

I have still not heard anything for elrawen. He has visited the forum 3 times in July, the latest being today, but he has not opened my PM. This is just not acceptable as far as I am concerned so I am passing all his outstanding matches (none of which have started) over to adjudication.

Not so sure my opponent has understood all the rules of the game , his army choice is for me a mistery , the map , an open ground with a big mountain at the center , my superior legions could not really be beaten by these slaves in a front fight. An opponent very fair play , playing fast , it was a pleasure , but with an other army , he would have more chances , i think

They were being beaten on the other side of the mountain as well!

I have sent out all my enquiries for the check today and already I am getting lots of helpful replies. Sorry that I cannot reply to all the messages I get but thanks very much for the information. The check is focused this time on Late Antiquity Division E, Early Middle Ages Divisions E and F and Biblical Division A.
