3) Continue the Whiskey Wars - Invade the lands of Clan Brave (via the lands of our relatives of the Delian Confederation) after the swift ejection of their invasion of last autumn in the campaign to put the 'e' back in 'Whiskey'.
4) Follow up the Declaration of War presented to the Utopians during the winter season and advance into their territory (via our allies of Crimea and Egypt) to teach them the difference between win and draw.
This has become known in Tuam as the Press Complaints Campaign!
The Kappadokians have heard of your fierce reputation & withdrawn into the city to carry on feasting & enjoying the latest CharlieChap scrolls (it's the one where he plays the role of an inspired general dressed in a chicken costume). The timing of the relief army's dispatch has been noted.
The battle in Mytilene has started before the Shahanshah shah sha sha shah (known in Tuam as Hey Jude) of Phanagoria's army arrived so we fully expect to have beaten him before he knows it.
The battle has become necessary as, unfortunately, the attempt of one of our spies to distract the three remaining Yorkists beseiged in Mytilene with glorious technicolour scrolls rather than the black and white scrolls they have been reading came to naught.

The challenge in Nanotuck has been posted - password 'Up Down'
The challange to Clan Brave has been posted - password (with crushing inevitability) 'WhiskEy'

The Helios
Yesterday, the battle for Sakastan reached it's epic climax. The Parthian army, battered and bruised - but not broken, retreated to the safety of the city walls, while the might of Morbious was left to ponder the challenge that faced them. Undaunted the Morbians began to plunder the local forest and construct the ladders and rams that would be needed to force entry to the Parthian capital.
As dawn broke this morning the battle for the city began. Wave after wave of Morbians broke against the walls, while the Parthians were steadfast and rained death on the heroes of Morbious. Death was but a temporary stop on the way to immortality as the Morbians continued to batter the doors and scale the walls, but the Parthians held firm.
By noon, messengers reached the Morbian camp - Phangorian outriders had been spotted in the distant hills. As the storm crows gathered it was time for desperate action, the Morbian champion, the Morbid One, would lead the final assault.
Battle lines were called, trumpets blared and the drums beat the rhythm of doom.
The warriors charged and ladders were thrown against the walls. Many a hero died at the top of the ladder but the brave continued to rise. Finally, the Morbid One ascended and parrying attacks from left and right managed to get a foothold on the ramparts. A blinding riposte killed one, and a thrust to the groin killed a second, giving the Morbian champion a split-seconds respite. In that moment the Morbid One knew what he had to do.....
With a blood curdling scream he charged. Disembowelling one with his sword, and thrusting his dagger into the eye of another he continued his charge. A sword pierced the body of the Morbid One, exiting the back above the hip, but the charge continued. With weapons embedded in the enemy the Morbid One saw no alternative... grasping three Parthian warriors he flung himself of the wall into the city. It was enough, the Morbian guards had the space they needed and gained the wall. The mass of bodies seemed to take an age to fall to the flagstones below, it was during this time that the Morbid One saw what was required. In one move he pulled the sword from his hip and, with a flick of his wrist, he threw the sword to the captain of the gate. End over end the sword spun, but the aim was true and the captain barely had time to wonder why there was a hilt embedded in this throat before he collapsed lifeless to the floor. A sickening crunch followed as the guards were crushed below the Morbid One. Rolling from the lifeless bodies that had absorbed the impact he retrieved his weapons and charged the gate guards - it was enough. Seeing the face of death they knew the game was up and ran. The Morbid One opened the gates and the Morbian elite entered to liberate the city to the cheers of the citizens.
When asked what on earth made him try such a desperate tactic, the Morbid One replied: It was something he's seen in a film

Hello Mr Hidden Sausage. I am playing a card - the 10 of clubs. This allows me to re-build a shattered army back up to 500 pts. Hence our re-match will mean my army is back to full strength. Regards, Claymore the Two Hander

Charming story, oh Alexander reincarnate.. Remember though, the wound he suffered in that feat caused him to bitterly withdraw from the world, leading to drink, and death not soon after.....

Sorry, BlatheringGut. I seem to have missed this trumped up challenge. Another fool dares to invade the pristine deserts of Westralia. Once day our deserts will be the envy of the world - especially China. As long as the tax rate is not to high .... anyway back to present. Do your worst and Claymore the mighty 2 Hander will turn you into a BlubberingGut.

It pays to be vigilant and carefully study what's going on in the ever ending turmoil that is the Lost World.
The more convenient we are already at war with Pestralia
The poor ruler of that barren land think the play of an event card will spare him his rightfull fate...namely defeat and humiliation

Our victory will be that much sweeter after thrashing his new full army with our diminished but battle hardened troops.
It's a lean, mean, killing machine

'Twas not enough to save the Barren Cliffs - after a successful but bloody assault the Clan of the Braveheart have taken the city & area.
Their losses were heavy though & if Rome continues to march on this area it will be a difficult battle to win.

Utopia Rattles It's Sabres
The war party in Utopia has demanded that their king declares war after losing badly in the annual scrabble tournament. Apparently 'Arrakis' on a triple word score was the winning play.
Famine in Cortoriacum
Armies of both sides are decimated (well halved actually) due to a severe famine in this once fair land of the Nervii. Their opponents are now the Clan of the Roasted-Rat-Heart.
Pays to Have Friends
The people within the Empire are greatly heartened at their ruler's wise use of alliances. National Morale is rumoured to have soared.
A Pyrrhic Victory?
Although the Clan of the Braveheart are still rejoicing after their storming of the Barren Cliffs such was the bitter defense by the Egyptians that the area is now but weakly held. Could the chief of the Clan have a clever plan (or even an event card handy) ?

peter , what does this mean?
Why would his army remain at a reduced AP? I always assumed when an army took an area, the next battle it was "rejuvinated"

That was certainly my understanding.
Also that if the city falls before the relieving army arrives, the relieving army never arrives. That is what happened when I tried to relieve Morbio and the city fell before I arrived. I was not given the option to attack the victorious Covenanter forces - neither at reduced or full strength.
