Folks
We're now a man down at Britcon in FoGR, with a transferee out of the period into another gaming system. That puts us on a rather irritating "23" at the moment.
Are there any "ditherers, lurkers or skulkers" (trying my best to use ECW-ish language here) out there who are yet to book in, or do any of the current players have anyone in their circles they can press-gang into taking part maybe ?

Hello Britconners
Some of you may recall my sale of my LoA Anglo Dutch to Frederick at the end of BC13. I'm at it again and am willing to sell my Later Thirty Years War Germans to anyone willing to part with £270 in exchange. There are around 300 figures, counting mounted as double and artillery as eights. They are all well painted and based etc. They are a mix of Testudo for most of the mounted and Essex for the foot. Most of the mounted have proper magnatised bases of the expensive variety. The rest are laser cut mdf bases. Obviously they would only change hands at the end of the basho! Please PM me if you are interested - first offer secures.
Thanks for reading.
Hunter

Jim Copeland mentioned that he might be a late sign up Tim. IIRC he's due back from a trip to the States today. I will chivvy him up re his intentions and report back.
I'm assuming this is real and not a fly way of getting folks to scramble around arranging nemesis matches to body swerve a bye

We'd like to avoid any byes if at all possible. But, in the event of needing one, NOBODY gets to issue it a Nemesis Challenge.

No but after the first game, they might wish that they had had one.

Kevin: will it be the rule that any single player will only have to play one bye over the weekend.. I am thinking it will be raw deal to come to Britcon and get less than 5 games for a major outlay...

Nigel, it has pretty much been previous practice at Britcon that you can only get the bye once even if allayer was bottom of the table all the way through. Have faith in yourself man and remember you are a fanatical Japanese warrior with a tradition to maintain.

We will do everything we can to make sure we have even numbers Nigel. There's plenty of time for other folks to enter etc. E-mailed Jim Copeland today to ask if he will be our saviour but no word back yet.

I do hope byes wont be needed but agree strongly that anyone would only get one bye. After all 2 would be bye bye and we cant have anyone quiting early

The good news although it is also bad is that as a Samurai if you lose your first game youwill not be around to get a bye in the second as while you are opening up your innards with a sharp dagger your best mate will be chopping your head off with a rather large sword. I presume you have booked your hotel on a single night basis!!
Seriously though, good luck with the first game and hope we get a chance to cross swords later in the tournament. Well you will have a sword I will have a couple of heavy guns.

Yes, it is standard practice that no player receives more than one bye per tournament.

i know... as hoof master's games go so quick.. lets let him bring two armies and play two games at the same time on side by side tables ? or allow someone to bring 1600pt army but must deploy 800pts on each table...
