Some people, like me for example have problems with the bar showing (0 new messages) when you in fact got new messages in your inbox. This is probably a reason for being unable to contact players.

Div C rexhurley (Gepids) 24/47 bt uheng (Ghaznavids) 41/32.

In a game where I thought Ghazy's were a spear based army poor uheng didnt have much hope advancing against a steep hill line masses with bow and HI.

Thanks for making a go of it mate, cheers Rex

Division C result

Bagration (Arabs) 12/46 v. Rexhurley (Gepids) 49/47

Game was about as subtle as a kick in the crotch. Both sides lined up and went at it. Superior Arab foot trumped Average Gepid foot. Badly. Thanks for the game, Rex and for being a good sport.

Cheers -

Bagration

I have ended Cavehobbit's reign of terror over Division B!

Londo (Bedouin Hamdanid of Aleppo) 24/49 vs Cavehobbit (Arab Conquest L) 39/39

Basically I got to pick the map, and chose one suited for MF, of which I had more than Cavehobbit. The map was like a big river delta with steep hills in between the streams - hadn't seen it before.

Thanks for a fun and unusual game!

Broke my duck in Div B in a battle which could have gone either way:

Ironclad (Fatamids) 39/38 vs Jonah75 (Saminids) 27/35

I still have 3 Div B challenges for whoever wants them - pw jonah

Jonah: I'll pick up one of those challenges when I get home.

Administrators: is the spreadsheet going to be updated to reflect the new players who have come in as replacements?

Anyone: does anybody have a source or reference with information about the Dark Ages supertroops, the Dailami? I'm curious to know more about them. I've read the page on wikipedia, but it's only a few paragraphs long, and all you find out about their way of fighting is:
During the Sassanid period, they were employed as high-quality infantry. According to the Byzantine historians Procopius and Agathias, they were a warlike people and skilled in close combat, being armed each with a sword, a shield and spears or javelins.
They come from a mountain region, which I suppose is why the designers made them MF. But were poor mountain people likely to have all their troops armoured? (Sure, the Sassanid emperor's guard would be armoured. But not most ordinary Dailami warriors, surely?)

Based on the Wikipedia description, they could as easily be MF, Superior, Protected, Light Spear, Javelins, Swordsmen - which would change them quite a bit! :)

Gday Londo
Hopefully Tom(Bagration1812) will have the changes up very soon  Meanwhile Fogmans results are to be deleted so place all your results in Fogmans recording area.I will manually remove Fogmans scores now.
Regards the Dailami i believe there is a discussion on them somewhere in the forum i will see if i can find it. :)

Div A

hidde (Early Crusader,1098-1099) 14/45
macsen (Dailami Buyids) 37/33

I suggested a draw at the start since most of the Dailami were behind a stream and/or uphill.
Just sayin'...in light of the recent upheaval 8)

PS-I'm surprised to see even veteran players don't know that results should be filled in to the left of the black squares!
I wanted to see how the standings are so I did it for you

Div C result

Lydianed (Buyids) 6/36 vs Supervark (Later Crusaders) 48/43

The infidel sat on a hill in their suits of armour and let us shoot at them until they all died/ran away. It takes a while with Supporting LF Bow but you get there eventually. Allah be praised.
