Sorry the long absence guys, been snowed etc., etc., However I am not bailing! I don't know what I would do without the regular beatings you lot like to hand out.
My challenges:

Deeter - Lowland Gauls vs Lydianed MRR pw "deeter"
iandavidsmith - Lowland Gauls vs Lydianed Carthaginian pw "iandavid"
uheng1997 - Lowland Gauls vs Lydianed MRR pw "stopbeatingme"
I'll scoot through the threads now and pick up my challenges from those of you that have posted them

Rematch result:
Rome (Deeter) 6/39 vs. Rome (uheng1967) 40/40
The Roman civil war, predictably, resulted in a lot of dead Romans.
Thanks for the game,
Deeter

Hi, yes this should be for me. Trouble is you've not selected "Any Book" and have set it only to "Field of Glory" which means I can't select my Syracusans. Can you reissue the challenge please Danny.
Cheers, Jules

Since our friend here still has difficulty with the intricacies of challenges I suggest you post the challenge Jules

We're winding down. I hope everyone's enjoyed the experience. I have opened recruitment for the next Lords series.

Rematch results:
Pyrrhic (Deeter) 35/40 vs. Rome (fogman) 38/38
A very close and exciting game. The Romans split their legions allowing the bulk of the pikes to fall on one half of the enemy. Even that wouldn't have been enough if the Roman camp hadn't been taken.
Good game!

Rematch results:
Punic (Deeter) 43 vs. Rome (Morbio)
Although Morbio won, I don't think he posted the result and he's the one who challenged me to enter this comp!
I want to thank Mr. fogman for organizing this most excellent competition. It is refreshing to fight an ancient battle that actually resembles an ancient battle instead of some horrible mis-match in terrain no one would ever fight over using improbable amounts of wierd troops. Well done, Sir!

thanks, that's the idea, to get people to field armies that bear some resemblance to historical reality, and to avoid mismatches in armies and terrain that result in negative play (or worse... lol).

batesmotel (Lowland Gallic - Early) 24/43
lydianed (Pyrrhus in Italy) 40/40
While the average Gallic HF were losing to the Pyrrhic pikes, The Gallic chariots and cavalry plus the Highland allies destroyed the Pyrrhic right flank mounted and MF and then turned on the rear of the hoplites and pikes. Thanks for the game.

iandavidsmith: later syracusans (25/44) win
vrs
ulysisgrunt: later carthaginian (43/43)
a fairly evenly matched army playing on evenly matcher terrain with a few hills.
My army was able to take the high ground soon , sat on the hill and repelled the charges against it.
Thanks for the game , Cheers Ian

Rematch result:
Punic (Deeter) 30/43 vs. Rome (iandavidsmith) 38/36
A very interesting straight-up fight that featured the early death of my IC and a TC!
Good game.

by Morbio
My apologies for being remiss in posting my return matches. The final one finished last night so I'll post all the results now.
Pyrrhic (Morbio) 43/40 v 45/44 Carthage (BatesMotel) - Another nail-biter that went to the wire.
Syracuse (Morbio) 15/44 v 43/43 Carthage (Ulysisgrunt) - Sometimes the gods are against you.
Pyrrhic (Morbio) 25 /44 v 48/44 Carthage (Fogman) - A game of cat and mouse that had the game survived a couple of turns longer then the result would have been very different! Pikes should beat spears and so it proved in both games.
Carthage (Morbio) 19/44 v 47/44 Carthage (IanDavidSmith) - A civil war that ended 1-1!
Rome (Morbio) 15/36 v 47/44 Carthage (Deeter) - The Punies were just that! Rome triumphed both times.
Rome (Morbio) 13/36 v 43/43 Carthage (Uheng1997) - In a toe-to-toe fight Rome is always going to win.
Gaul (Morbio) 13/45 v 47/45 Carthage (Lydianed) - A tough Gaulish army was just too strong.
Thanks to Fogman for arranging a challenging completion, I do like mirror-matches they even out some of the imbalance of the armies. My thanks to my opponents for great games!

Last report:
fogman (syracuse) 26/44 vs ulysisgrunt (pyrrhic) 47/38
fogman (gauls) 29/48 vs lydianed (pyrrhic) 43/40
in both games, attacks on the flanks pulled the pike line apart and then it was a matter of time.
THANKS to all the participants.
