Yes, I thought about the masks, problem is I´m not very proficient at making them... Right now I can go faster making multipurpose units in the three / four schemes chosen for each icon (regular or grey, desert coloured, SE camo and SS camo). The quantities are manageable and it is mostly a work in series... Now, if someone which is more skilled at making masks want to start making them... be my guest, that would give us all freedom to skin the units in multitude of schemes :-). For example, I saw that the PzIII M already has its mask. I will try to make some masks also, and see if the results are acceptable, to post them here.

Here is another "new" unit, this time for the US Army... The M115 8inch Howitzer. This howitzer was a big brother of the 155 mm Long Tom gun. It shared the same carriage, which mounted the 203 mm barrel, which was shorter. It was a quick work using as a base the M1 Long Tom PzCorps icon. Here is for all of you to use, it comes in regular olive green color, a desert coloured and a grey version. Enjoy!

Here is a unit icon it was lacking, the Obice da 210/22 M35. This gun was used by the Italians, but also exported to Hungary, and also used by the germans after the Italian armistice. In Hungary it was called 21cm 39.M and 21 cm Haubitze 520(i) by the germans. I thought this icon would be welcomed by the modders who are working in Italian and Hungary mods, so here it is, free for use! Three for the price of one!

The Hungarians only had the 4 of those 21cm M40 Motors.

I just used the German 21cm for the 150mm M31 motor.

Now I have to go back and add your icon for the 210mm.

These will be very expensive as they only had 4 of them.

They also use the Russian 203mm B-4

Thanks Bebro... I think this was the most complex and "original" icon work yet... used a lot of parts from other icons (including an L3 light tank!) and a some pixel drawing... I like the result!
I'm glad someone with your icon-maker skills find it to be a good work! :-)

Razz: Yes, the Hungarians received only four of those guns, but according to wikipedia, they produced some more (not in big numbers) with some modifications to suit them... I think they had no more 30-40 of them... But, well, I felt that was an unit which deserved an original icon. :-)

Hello to all!

In this and following posts I will upload some more icon stuff. Some of them new, some of them improvements (I think!) of previously released units. So, as always grab what you like to be used as you please...

Fulfilling some request made in this thread, here is a Wespe pack, in Artillery and AT modes, in the four "normal" multipurpose unit pack: Regular grey, desert, and SE and SS camo schemes from the Elite Units Mod.

Also included is the Hummel Pack. Again, in Artillery and At versions, with the four schemes.

The Nashorn pack...

2012-11-26: Changed the attached file, now the indirect fire version of the icon has its gun with the correct elevation.

Completing the previously released unit pack, here is and updated and improved StuG IIIA pack (used also for StuG IIIB), in Aty and At modes, and in the four colour schemes and a bonus Special Unit in desert camo (that is five schemes for this pack!).

Cheers!

Following the icons released, here are some stuff for the Camo Sprayshop software, the base Icons and masks for the Brummbar and Nashorn. Also a pack with the base icons and masks for the US 155 mm Long Tom Gun and the 203 mm M115 Howitzer (and there is more to come).

Cheers!

Edited: Changed the Nashorn Base Icon & Mask file, now the icon has the correct elevation for its gun.

Here are some more stuff related to the camo Sprayshop program...

StuG IIIA and StuG IIIA_AT Base Icons and masks.

Also I include a pack of desert coloured skins, two of them I did to be able to transform any grey base icon to the (aproximate) desert color used for icons in Afrika Korps. Those skins are a little bigger than the common ones, this way they work OK with big icons & masks (for examle, the Long Tom Gun and M115 Howitzer previously uploaded). I tested them, and the results looks rather good to me.
I hope someone find these files useful.

Cheers!

Wow! Many thanks Guille! This one was indeed lacking from the Hungarian inventory, somehow I never had the time to make it. Probably because it was used in small numbers. I do not know how many were there exactly, but I would put it around 20 or a bit less.

Your icon is very accurate and detailed, and is in the same style as the vanilla icons, which is great, congratuations. However, I have decided to reskin it with Dwight's sprayshop as Hungarian artillery pieces usually sported a three colour camo, like this:

The same three colour camo on a 21cm Howitzer is clearly visible in this b@w picture:

I also corrected the shadow a bit, it should not be paralel with the barrel:

Hey, Guille, are you interested in making this AA unit?

Also, page 151 of The Encyclopedia of Weapons of World War II

This is the last important arty unit that is still missing from the Hungarian inventory. I was planning to merge the barrel of the Soviet 85mm AA gun with the platform of the German FlaK88 maybe some hand-retouch as well. I think it would have satisfactory result. AT version would be also neccessary. A German-style grayscale version would be nice so that I could reskin it as well.

?

Hello McGuba!

The new camo scheme on the 210 mm Howitzer is impressive! I like it very much how you improved the icon... it was downloaded right to "my" collection... and I will change the barrel shadow of the other versions as you said. It looks better!

Thanks for your positive feedback about this icon... Indeed, I try to make icons as "vanilla looking" as possible, but to make them to look as the original article also... I like to see some kind of "uniformity" (does this world exists?) in the icons positioned on the map game.

About the 80 mm AA gun... I will work on it, and try to do my best to obtain a greyscale icon and camo sprayshop mask for you to work on it, but don't forget to share the results of your work!!

Thanks for all!

Hello McGuba!
Here is the icon for the 80 mm 29-38M AA Gun, in AA and ground combat modes... I think I could not achieve the "PzCorps Vanilla look" for this one... but did my best. The result is not bad as, I see it. I hope you find the icon useful, may be when you re-colour it as you did with the 210 mm Gun, it will look much better.

Cheers!

And here is another missing AA gun from the standard PzCorps equipment... The soviet M1940 25mm AA gun... I Did it in AA and AT modes. I attach the photo I used as a guide to model the icon. With this unit, I will improve the 25mm SPAA icon that is at present used in some mods of this game. I saw also photos of the 37mm AA gun mounted on a half-tracked ZiS truck. I will try to make an icon of that unit also...
