ericdoman1 wrote: I can't really alow a 3 vs 3 or a 4 vs 4 in the last round as possibly that is all a player might need to win. But in the first round it would seem fair. Also if something unfortunate has occurred to one player, I still have to consider the other 21 players. I suppose that is another random factor in the game. For later rounds in particular 5th and 6th I would have to make a call.
I can see your point, Eric, but personally I feel it would be best to apply the same values on adjudication across all the rounds. If you have two basic types of result from the adjudication process - either a 5-1 win where one player is deemed to be the cause of the failure to complete the game, or a 3-3 draw where boths players are equally culpable or non-culpable - then the cynical player will only get one point for deliberately not playing. Hardly a championship winning strategy! I think what is more likely is that one or two games between players further down the table might not get played in the last round.

With regards to the two incomplete matches from the first round here, it seems to be fairly clear who is causing the delay (for whatever reason) and so the adjudication results should be 5-1 in both instances, in my opinion.
Round 2 will begin March 25th.
Isn't that today's date? :?

I must strongly echo Stockwellpete here.
Through no fault of my own I'm given a 'draw' (as is Tiavals)?
Most sports and games have a system for dealing with no-shows etc. but surely they punish only the one responsible?

Had my game been completed, win or lose, I would be saying the same.

Also, I posted on the 21 that I had not heard from my opponent for a couple of days, and batesmotal mentioned Mike's computer was down on the same day. I'm not sure what else I was expected to have done...

I believe that the easiest thing to do now is for me and Aristides to fight each other on the second round, and Triarius and gazxtrix will fight against each other as well. Then, when we finish the first round with our opponents(hopefully before round 2 ends), we will post the results retroactively. Now, since those whose games are still going are playing against each other, the allocation of opponents due to the Swiss system should work adequately due to the abnormality of the situation.

Darn that was a confusing post. The gist is: I will fight Aristides because we're fast, and the slow ones will fight each other, instead of the normal swiss opponent allocation, since our scores are unknown. This might not be totally in the spirit of the swiss system, but this is an unusual situation.

Hi Fedrico

I had posted this before on page 6.

Example:

Martog 2 (45/41) vs 6 (22/56) batesmotel

So batesmotel will have - Batesmotel 6 (23). The 23 signifies the difference in BPS killed. Couldn't think of anything else, unless other players have a simpler suggestion.

Aristides

Noticed you had a challenge up for 500pts?

I know you are in a another competition but the time of the challenge, did coincide with the 2nd round being posted.

It is only 400pts. I have made a mistake or three in the past, when I have ahd x number of builds for an army, that is 350, 400 and so on and fielded an army that was 350pts less than my opponents!

I am prob wrong but just in case.

Screenshots and running commentaries would be nice. Especially terrain.

Chris/batesmotel has pointed it out before about hw maps can vary. If there was a difference of 1 on initiative I think you may have a crowded map which looks pretty open. The bigger the difference the more crowded.

Some of you may or may not know this but on Saturday's before the football. A Mark Lawrenson makes predictions on the scores. For all you nerdy geeks out there, something to do:) Yep I have done it already. 3 pts for an exact score and 1 pt if you guess who wins.

Turk1964, it seems to me that if you give 3 points to each, it might mean the more nasty players(like me!) might stall the game on purpose to get 3 points, if they're losing terribly. It's unfortunate that some games can't keep up with the time schedule, but there's little that can be done about it in my opinion.

I'll have to find a place to put screenshots to, I suppose I could post about my and Aristides match.

Point guessing is kinda evil, since it's humiliating to the one who is predicted to have low points. ;)
