Message to the Senate
With most of the Legions to be recalled for trainig as requested by the Senate so many troops camped outside Rome may spell Disaster. The Men need to be kept busy otherwise there may be unrest amongst the Legions. My spys tell me that some Legions are already thinking revolt agaist the senate. The men have heard rumours of wages being with held until retraining has been completed.Urgent action is required or i fear Rome will be at War with itself.
Your Servant Legatus Turk

Good to hear from you.
Hopefully the special ointment I have given you has cleared that unseemly rash.
AND WHY WAS I NOT INFORMED ABOUT THE BROTHEL
Orders. Still not used to receiving them.
Well I will peruse the scroll in a bit more detail.
My eyesight isn't what it used to be but that Carthage wine was good stuff.
I do not like the end of your scroll (good papyrus by the way, where did you purchase it). I wish to fight the true enemies of Rome rather than some internal bickering over who knows what.
Grumpy, Wine besotted, who the hell is this little upstart.
He deserves a damn good thrashing. Although having heard avrious rumours recently, he might like that.
Dearly beloved honoured by Jupiter Old Fart's (aka EDM and TGM) firstly one should pay a visit to the fine halls of Lupanaar there you will find many a fine maiden (and the odd boy should that be more to your old men's taste's

) while there we could amicably agree that you have taught us what you know or ready and that the pox ridden Selecuids were mere lucky and no more however if the addled Goth decides otherwise set up a challenge using COTR Roman army 400pts we will accept with same then we will promptly demonstrate to you our abilities to give you old farts a lesson in war and an illusion to the Goth that he is right

from there we can either go on buggering ourselves or go a path to rid the world of Goth led Selecuid whores

Gentlemen,I have been notified that there is an illness at home and I must attend to it immediately. I therefor, resign my commision and will retire to my Villa and eat grapes, drink wine, and oooooogle the slave women!!!
Actually, my wife had to go in the hospital with appendicitis and it could entail a lot of time needed for other things. I will be finishing up the games that I have going at a slow pace, and still may take a challenge or two occasionally, but I won't have time to keep up with the hectic pace this calls for. My thanks to Klaus and TJD for putting this on, as I think it is a really great idea and the folks have really got behind it.
As it was announced early in the posts...easy in and easy out. I have to reluctantly take the easy out. But may return and start (probably as a slave) over!!
Thanks all
Grudge

Hail Rex
Halls of Lupanaar you say.
Well I will have to find my A to Z and a quick trip would be an excellent way of getting back on track.
Yes I have found the various armies and have downloaded them all into the relevant files.
Download this, upgrade that, tweet here, facebook there.
Bring back the Abacus I say.
Salute
Ericus

Sorry you're leaving Grudge but do remember that this tournament has been designed to let players enter, leave, and return easily. We'll be around when things settle down for you.
Best wishes to your wife for a speedy recovery,
Tim

Best wishes to Grudge for a swift and full recovery for his wife and for a swift return of Grudge to the Senate.
The Slave revolt in Illyria has been successfully suppressed and all the leaders of the Slave revolt were slain in the battle along with many of their best men although at a cost to our loyal forces ( 4393 Slaves and 2966 Romans). One gallant velite detachment slew the slave CinC early int he battle and fragmented his bodyguard but died in the process to the last man. These men deserve a prominent monument in the forum as an inspiration in future generations. To finish what these velites had begun, another velite finished routing the remaining bodyguard of the Slave CinC as the battle was concluding. In addition to the slave CinC and his subordinates, the cream of the Slave fighters perished or fled in the battle leaving mostly the slave women and children along with a few skirmishers. We expect the remaining slaves should show little fight in the future although decimation is contemplated for the remaining men of military age as a further discouragement.

ORDERS to Proconsul TGM and Proconsul Ericdoman:
1. Each of you has to set up ONE challenge for each Legatus, Tribune or Aedile ( see page 1, post 4), except of TIAVALS and SUPERVARK.
Additionally you can´t challenge one of the Pro-Praetors, as they rule their provinces at the moment. Everybody else, gotta receive one challenge from each of you.
2. All sides will have to use the pre-assembled "Roman Army". In case you don´t have it, contact Tim (TJD).
3. All of these battles should improve the abilities of the involved roman commanders !
4. After this training phase is finished, TGM and Ericdoman as well, will both array a Roman Consular Army, each consisting of 4 Legions, each Legion under control of a subcommander ( Legatus).
5. Wait for further orders
6. When you engage the enemy on the battlefield, each subcommander will send screenshots to his respective Proconsul to ask for detailed orders to improve the results for the Roman side.
Most important, both Proconsules will avoid any contact with wine for an unlimited timeframe !!

So I have to play Rex, Turk, Burinus, Fedem and Tullius, using the same army against the same army, five times.
Ummm is there a chance we could do something a bit different, otherwise I will prob be on stronger stuff than wine just to take the element of boredom away.
I am still not familiar with screenshots I am afraid. That is posting on this link. However I have attached screenshots on emials and sent it to players.
I am setting up 5 challenges. password-forrome
BUT PLEASE NOT THE SAME FIVE ARMIES.

We will of course bow to the wishes of Rome's orders, however, perhaps a compromise?
As Eric has already sent his challenges as the Romans, perhaps the 5 challengees could lead one of the preset barbarian armies vs Eric's Romans in those games...
I will do the opposite and issue the 5 challenges with the preset enemies of Rome armies and fight vs the other players whom will all use the Roman army.
Would this work ?

To the Senate and People of Rome,
I know that I have been unfairly described as corrupt, but I cannot let this stand without knowing for sure if the honors bestowed upon me are correct.
I received
IX points for correctly answering
III questions from the Senate.
I received
I point for completing a battle against Seleucus
VII.
I received
III points for dealing with the troubles at the mines run by Licinius Galba.
I received
III points for defeating the slave rebellion in Sicily.
I have been honored with
XIX points, but my scribe comes up with a total of
XVI points. I know that math may not be his strongest attribute, but until I can find someone better he will have to do.
