Battle of Voisinii
The Etruscan and Romans were on very hilly ground and both sides really did not want to commit to combat as attacking was much more dangerous than defending. On Turn 19 the Etruscan consul threw caution to the wind after chasing some roman light troops into the forest to the left. Gambling they attacked against the weaker roman allies in the roman center having some early success.
on turn 24 roman turn (last) the Etruscan had one of those rare but very bad cascade routs were one cohort fails and 4 other cohorts in the line routed even though some were only in disrupted condition. A draw still was result but nightfall saved the Etruscan consul from having to fall on his sword. Romans won skirmish 44-26
It is always a pleasure to fight Chris Townsend, and we both commented on how a campaign changes how you fight a battle. Salute to Kronenblatt as this is a pretty cool multiplayer campaign game.
For the retreat rolls Etruscans rolled a 10 the Romans a 4 Romans retreated (effect unknown Chis T can report), but with the 44 loss the Etruscan army is weakened. but controlling the field.
The Etruscan senate is debating their next move and will inform the group shortly.
