Please note that I have identified a loophole in the rules from the armies 17-18-27 armies around Durnovaria in the form of a stalemate such that battle can’t be fought (due to army 27 being in a Sacred Site) and at the same time army 27's ZoC control over South’s capital Durnovaria preventing the South from regaining it.

So rules have been changed that an army located within the ZoC of a Hillfort or Sacred Site, Church Monastery still cannot enter an engagement but that it also doesn't exercise any ZoC while located there. Furthermore, these structures cannot be controlled by any kingdoms any more.

Also, Karvon got the option whether to stay with his army 27 in the Sacred Site of Maiden Castle or to move back to Durnovaria. He chose the latter.

This is most likely just one of many loopholes hidden in the rules, which is the reason why I keep repeating:

Don't worry! We'll all hold each other's hands to get to know and understand the rules, etc., together. So let's be generous and accommodating. This is for fun, after all!

The West defeated the South 41-15.

Not sure what sort of army we would be facing we deployed most of our troops hidden in woods on our right and center with a few scout LH screening. The South deployed on a series of hills and in woods which anchored their left.

We cautiously pushed out a few lights to probe, but the South rather surprised us by aggressively advancing down from the hills. We redeployed our hidden troops through the woods more to our left, but still hidden as the South swept forward, driving back our skirmishers and shifting more towards our right and the large woods.

Finally, we pushed our warbands out of the woods to the left and our lancers swept out wider to envelop the Southern right flank while some of our light foot and mediums served as a delaying force in and just beyond the woods on our right.

In a sharp but short fight our warbands engaged the opposing foot and the lancers did their job by overwhelming the opposing horse and crashing in on the exposed flanks and rear of the enemy foot to finish them off.

carpenkm vs Karvon has 1 or 2 turns left. Should finish tonight Uk time.

In the very last turn of the game the match the North snuck out a victory against the west 59 - 31

Happy with a draw and a bit of sight seeing in the Welsh lowlands, the Northern army sat back and admired the scenery. The West skillfully skirmished and pretty much left the north with only cavalry and warbands. when the West finally decided to advance though the foot battle was won by the Northerners and the remaining western lights were little more than an annoyance once the missiles ran out. Some luck and the ever useful noble lancers caused enough damage to win the day, just. Well played Karvon.

So now only this one left?

Yeah, down to the wire; think we have 2-3 turns left in a very close game.

West defeats South 62-57.

We sacrificed most of our mediums and lights to lure the more numerous Southern medium foot wing forming the enemy left off their high ground and engage in the nearby large forest, and draw forward their supporting warband/heavy foot center. Then, we pushed out our warbands and lancers out from in and behind the forest in an attempt to overwhelm his center. Our plan eventually worked, but we suffered some horrendous losses in the process. It was very much touch and go in the final turns and could've easily swung the South's way.

From the rules:

• An army having lost a battle is placed (at its player's choice) in the hex of (or adjacent to) its player's Stronghold (provided it is controlled by its kingdom) or at least 2 hexes away, in the hex of the closest structure controlled by its kingdom and connected to the kingdom's lines of logistics, or, if none of these are available, in a hex of or adjacent to the Court of its kingdom.

• An army having won a battle either (at its player's choice) remains in its hex or moves into the adjacent hex previously occupied by a removed losing enemy army.

Time has come for round 8's order giving and movement instructions and the 12 MP each of your armies have.

Please send to me through replying to my PM by May 6 (9 PM, Swedish time) at the latest, and just as a simple sequence of individual moves (e.g., 2 4 2 6 0 6), with no other symbols in between, only blanks (for easy copy-pasting by the administrator). I will not open the PMs from any of the factions other than my own until I've published the movement instructions of the armies of The North.

And please check up on your team members: if needed, please submit moves on their behalf as well, ideally in the same PM.
