17 Kerait Aetius39 Thracian (Triballi) 700-351 BC Lombard 1038-1049 AD
Kerait (Thracian) defeats Aetius39 (Lombard) 64-40
A huge horde of lightly equipped Thracians swept across the hills and descended upon a small army of Lombard crack troops. In a bloody slog, the right Thracian wing fought its way up a rough hill defended by massed Lombard archers and finally managed to defeat them despite high casualties. This allowed the Thracian right to shift around and support the Thracian left, which was seriously struggling against the armoured Lombard elites on flat ground. Although the Lombards were gravely outnumbered and their battle-line was further shortened by virtue of a good portion of their force being mounted, Aetius39 skillfully avoided envelopment until the very end.
Good game!
