Maeglyr's Byzantines defeats aXunited's Teutons & Polishs [ 48 - 22 ]
It was a song of ice and greekfire.
The Masters of the Order decided that the priority was to eradicate the pagans coumans and left their foot soldiers to take care of the Byzantine army corps. They suffered few losses in their adventure but their absence cruelly missed the Teutonne infantry which was cut to pieces.
The frail Byzantine center was supported by the usual mounted harassers from the steppes. Together, they knew how to keep the Nordics going in circles and enjoy their exposed flanks.
Thanks for the game !

Chris Townsend's Egyptians 1200 defeat Rob123's Cimmerian 750 42 to 15.
The Egyptians had rough ground across their entire front, with a curious mountain to their left. The Cimerians had open ground but funny terrain (i.e a lake) behind their lines, meaning that retreats were going to be a problem. And, with a lack of lancers/heavy mounted units, retreat was the name of the game, despite substantial Egyptian losses from horse archer fire. There were some curious interactions between Egyptian chariots and Cimmerian horse archers (neither would stand and fight), and some local Cimmerian successes, but, ultimately, after a tough fight, it was the wrong army in the wrong terrain.
Good game.

If an opponent surrenders, the score is adjusted to the minimum needed to be counted as a win, so in this case the score would be 40-9.

Turn 2
My Seleucids arrived on the field in march order prepared to do a lot more of it before serious fighting began.
The Bosporan force had far fewer mounted than I expected and I surprisingly found myself in the position to be aggressive with my own.
Turn 10
The bulk of the Seleucid mounted drove up the right, the Bosporan mounted fled, leaving their foot to their fate.
The main infantry lines eventually drifted into contact and the phalangites performed as expected.

by Maeglyr
Division B
Maeglyr's Ottomans defeats IMC's Florentine [ 65 - 30 ]
For this meeting, the Florentines decided to divide their army into two distinct corps, whose heart was a keil. One to the west, set back, marauding around a flowery hill, the other to the east, holding a wooded hill.
The defensive position of the Florentines forced the Anatolian infantry to abandon the security of their entrenched positions alongside the bombards to launch a risky operation to secure the flanks of both wing of the Ottoman cavalry. Most will not survive it, but will occupy the men-at-arms, mounted and footed, long enough to allow the sipahis to apply their preferred tactic: the arrowed pincer movement.
A keil, left alone in the west by his supporters, scattered, held valiantly against a squad of sipahis determined to fill their hunting table. Vain Ottoman pride.
The right flank, Akinjis and Bedouin cavalry, was quickly routed by the swarm of light Italian cavalry, supported by proud knights. The remaining sipahis, stubborn, manage to hold the field.
The other keil was abundantly watered with arrows then loaded by crazy janissaries. Their science of the sword allowed sipahis to go around the wall of spades and pass through the back door, routing the keil. His supporters, archers and crossbowmen, were also swept away. The sipahis, freed from this threat, could blithely take care of the heavily armed but, alas, very little mobile knights.
Thanks for the game, IMC, comme toujours, the men-at-arms make me sweat !

Solemnace Sarmatian 350BCE-25CE defeats Antivirt Roman 105--25 BC with Numidian 41-9
The Romans and Numidians form a strong position on a hill with Artillery support and light foot and horse occupying the surrounding areas of rough ground. Initially faced with this difficult to attack position the Sarmatians hesitated sending a slow moving force around the Romans left to try and get at the artillery to enable the Sarmatian centre to advance without fear of artillery attacks. At this point the Sarmatian left moved to engage light horse occupying a rough hill and routed or drove off many of them and some of the left and centre combinded with careful maneuvering to drive the Roman and Numidian light foot from a second rough hill routing many. At this point the three flanks converged on the Roman and Numidian infantry to surround them. Some of the Roman and Numidian infantry broke out to engage Sarmatian light foot brought to deal with any elephants. They caught one in the process but an Irregular foot unit was wiped out by sustained javelin attack. By this point the Roman artillery had been neutralised but time was running short for the Sarmatians who resorted to high risk tactics which exposed their lancers to danger but were able to break a number of Roman Infantry units to force the Romans and Numidians to break.
