Chris Townsend's Egyptians 1200 defeat SawyerK's Babylonians 890 and their Neo-Hittite allies 61 to 56.

The appropriately dry map was dominated by hills on the Babylonian side. The Babylonians sensibly deployed a strong mixed infantry force on the hills, backed by chariots, with a mix of chariots, camels and infantry on their right. The typical Egyptian centre of close infantry, backed by archers and spiced with guards gamely advanced on the Babylonian centre and got wiped out to a man. On the Egyptian right, a small force of Libyan foot, backed by archers, had more success after their long walk from the seashore. rolling forward from the Egyptian left to some enclosures at their base on the Minoan right. The Babylonian right was met by a mixed force of chariots, impact infantry and javelin men. The Babylonians successfully targeted the Shardana Guard, there was a chaotic chariot fight, and the camelry annoyed the chariots but eventually succumbed to missile fire. At the end, one of the heavy chariots routed, just before the Babylonian Foot Guard (with a general) wrecked more damage.

Definitely a good game that could have gone either way.

Solemnace Indian (Rajput) 650CE-1049CE defeats Indibil Arab (Abassid) 836-873 62-44

The Arab forces did well on their right where they routed the Rajput forces opposite them to flee or for a lucky few escape towards the Arab left where the Rajputs had been much more successful in overcoming the Arab Cavalry in front of the mdespit the deep stream seperating the two armies. Eventually Arab Losses mounted and they were forced to flee after a hard fought battle.

Toughest fight yet in this division. Resilent Roman infantry that took a long time to overwhelm. Good game.

alexhstandish (Rus/Tatar) beat aXunited (Teutonics) 16:47

The Battlefield was restricted with woods which channeled knights on one side and Teutonic infantry and more knights on the other side. The Rus managed to isolate a number of knights and shoot them up sufficiently to charge and rout them. That said, several knight units galloped very quickly and caught Rus cavalry in the rear. Which did not end well. However, the Rus best equipped cavalry followed through some knight routs charging into the softer infantry and this won the day.

Thank you aXunited for a tough fight.

Chris Townsend's Kingdom of Soissons 461 w/ Germanic Foot Tribes defeat Solemnace's Vandal 500 60 to 42.

The map roll was good for the Kingdom, giving what looked like home territory - scattered woods and hills and lots of open in the centre. The Kingdom put maximum Romans on its left, a mix of warbands and sub-Romans (with a skirmisher screen) for the rest of the line, and light cavalry supported by a Nomad archer or the extreme right. The the Arab heavy infantry occupied their centre, supported by skirmishers, massed archers and elephants. Each flank had a contingent of medium and light cavalry. It was the first time the Kingdom's troops had seen elephants, and the results were predictable. On the other hand, the northern climate obviously did not agree with the Arab heavy infantry. Their desire to go home, coupled with their left flank cavalry's defeat decided the battle.

Good game!

Maeglyr's Byzantines defeats alexhstandish's Russo-tatars [ 64 - 51 ]

The immensity of the Pontic steppe has never been studied seriously. In 1374, perhaps, two expeditionary forces, Byzantine and Russo-Tatar, met there. The soldiers of both sides really liked to make maps.

We thus saw many riders enthusiastically walking around the entire battlefield, collecting valuable data, rather than fighting.

Finally, the Skoutatoi, some wet-blankets, eventually pushed part of the Russian cavalry to the northwest to fight.

A close battle that was determined by the randomness of some pursuit routes, and a final reckless charge of Byzantine archers on foot, which put an end to the Russo-Tatar cartography.
Some fun, here ! Thanks for the game, Alex !
