Solemnace Swiss 1476CE-1477CE defeats ulysisgrunt French 1484-1500 52-27

Initially the Swiss deployed defensively in the face of the large number of French knights and supporting units. They eventually shifted to the offensive taking out some of the French artillery at the loss of two Keils one which rallied and drew one of the French Swiss keils away from the main fight where some of the French supporting units were destroyed at the cost of the Swiss artillery and some of the Light foot. The battle came to an end when one of the French Swiss keils was shattered and the French quit the field.

Maeglyr's Byzantines defeats wzfcns's english and scottish allies [ 53 - 0 ]

In the face of the Byzantine pretensions to establish a new Hadrian’s Wall, stood a strong party of Scottish spears, supported by English archers. The Anglo-Norman chivalry was waiting in the rear for the opportunity to break the enemy infantry spread under their hooves. This opportunity did not present itself, because the Byzantines chose to attack quickly and massively.

The strong Scottish formation was not ready to face a shower of light cavalry and mounted archers. It broke apart when several units began to try to establish contact with the fleeing horsemen. The gaps in formation were used by the Byzantine skoutatoi and mounted lancers and allowed several severe flank charges.

An interesting Scottish reserve force held the left flank, composed of glorious and fierce galwegians and highlanders. It was too far from the fighting and was delayed by some units on horseback. It only left the swamps to see the rest of the fleeing army.

Maeglyr's Ottomans defeats wzfcns's Frenchs [ 52 - 22 ]

The French vanguard, composed of archers and crossbowmen, deployed a sustained shot against the sipahis. They chose to ignore these shots and to load savagely into the pile a wild charge in their ranks, supported by a triplet of entrenched bombards.

Stuck between two thick woods and their shooting infantry being harassed, pikemen and billmen could not properly deploy and vainly sought to catch the timariotes. They ended up surrounded, isolated from each other, without support.

A large part of the French knighthood was distracted from the main battles by an intrepid attack of the djanbazans, coming from the rear. These were ruthlessly routed by Guillebert de Castries and his écuyers, but gave the rest of the army time to break through the French lines and disperse their cohesion.

When, on the right flank, the Ottoman skirmishers, gunners and light cavalry from the Balkans, were surprised by volleys of arrows coming out of the forest, the Iaylars were ready, in reserve, and hunted one by one the French archers in the woods.

In the end, the French retreated without almost any knight having bitten the dust. The honor was safe!

Solemnace Minoan 1600-1450 defeats rockmanbob123 Skythians 750-551 60-44

The swirling masses of Skythian Horse archers proved a significant challenge for the Minoan heavy foot who struggled to engage the horse archers. In a long drawn out fight eventually Minoan archers and slinger were able to do enough damage with the aid of chariots and spearmen to force the Skythians to leave the field leaving piles of bodies from boths sides in their wake.

Division A

Stones1985 (Parthian with Seleucid Allies) beat Karvon by a score of 42 to 12. This was a tough ask for the Libyans facing Light Horse Archers, Pike and Cataphracts with Light Chariots and Medium foot. It turned into two battles one on each flank. A small Parthian left flank force was beaten but a number of those units made a tactical withdrawal/escaped to join the right flank force which had overwhelming numbers on the right against the Libyan left. That proved decisive as the Parthian right wing was victorious with the Libyan right flank too late to join in the fight.

Solemnace Indian (Rajput) 1050CE-1339CE defeats aXunited Teutonic Order 1226-1319 with Polish 61-43

The Raiputs deployed in two main divisions sending mostly the less capable lancers and Elephants straight at the Teutonic and Polish while supporting infantry crossed rough terrain. The best Rajput cavalry was sent on a long flanking maneuver around the enemies right hoping to outflank them. Most of the Lancers in the first division were cut to pieces by the Teutons and Polish allies but with the help of the Elephants did significant damage to the Teutonic host and the flanking force with the aid of the Infantry eventually ended up doing enough damage to force the enemy from the field after a bloody day of fighting.

Division C

Maeglyr's Byzantines defeats rockmanbob123's bohemians [ 64 - 45 ]

On the right flank, a unit of Catalan Almograves succeeded, with the help of archers and light cavalry, in breaking the resistance of the armored lancers and opened the way for a reverse catch of the overconfident crossbowmen.

On the left flank, a chase race between Bohemian knights and steppe cavalry ended in slight disadvantage for the bohemians.

In the end, the battle was won thanks to the greater mobility of the Byzantine cavalry, which allowed them to distance the heavy knights and to proceed with salvatory flank charges for the frail skoutatoi. Indeed, the center of the Byzantine army did not withstand the shock and ended up scattered in the wind. The skoutatoi did not have the necessary equipment to hold long against the disciplined lancers and a particularly tough unit of knights on foot.

Note an epic duel between a unit of Byzantine light archers and Bohemian knights who charged them in difficult terrain. Glorious victory for the knights, after about ten turns wading in the mud.
