I was very happy to have a map with a lake on my right which narrows the battlefield by half so global cavalry flanking war near impossible . An additional deep stream between us make difficult every offensive move. Nevertheless, my opponent attacked boldly on the left and was clever to get a flanking attack and he began to take the upper hand on this side. I tried to pull more troops to stop the crossing even throwing an archer unit which was dispatched as two warbands made the crossing. At midgame, the score was 34 % to 14 % for the huns and a mere unit separated me from the knout out. Then a turn of fate : One of the warband with C-and C made a pursuit after victory and bumped into a higher ground unit with general and lost the subsequent fight . Another warband got successfully flanked and disbanded in two rounds. Things become more or less stabilized with attrition war till the end with a late rally of an archer unit on my side.

Division D
Swuul (British 600-1030 AD with Viking 780-899 AD allies) beat
grumpydaddy845 (Arab, Conquest 638-684 AD) 61-58
A map with a deap stream running through center, with a pond about a third of the map length from the right hand side (seen from the British point of view). The terrain on the right side of the pond was very rough going, left of the pond rather smooth. Early on I thought I will drive my troops next to the stream on the "main" front (aka left of the pond) and thus make it impossible for the arabs to cross the river with their much superior troops, I would send Brythonic medium infantry supported by some spearmen to make a wide flank move on the "side" front (aka right of the pond). That plan had to be thrown out the window when (to my surprise) arab camels and horse cavalry succeeded to cross the stream on the far left (I am baffled that my cavalry evaded there, if they would have stood and fought the arab cavalry would have been slaughtered in the stream; well, live and learn), while at the same time the arab reinforcements (cavalry and bedouins) rushed right to stop my flankers (who had gotten through the rough terrain). With some frantic moves to solve the situation (hostile camels and cavalry in my rear, with my cavalry having evaded far back) skirmishers were told the camel hunting season has begun, some spearmen turned about to face the cavalry in the rear, and the wide mass of my army waded into the stream. The arabs had no more reinforceements behind their main-line anymore (as they were checking my flankers, or running amok behind my own lines), so I thought if I just can bleed the arabs dry then *eventually* I will make it across. A bloodbath began. Behind my lines the camels were destroyed and most of the cavalry, but one cavalry kept rear-charging my spearmen and routing them. My wide-flankers got destroyed (a couple nasty double-drops and the panic spread amongst my troops). After more than a dozen turns of human wave attacks into and across the stream began to tell, as units of both sides began to autorout from the main line. There was one difference -> there was no end to the british hordes, so when one unit ran another took its place, while the arab line began to look like swiss cheese. On the very last turn (I had the final turn in the game) of the game the arabs did lead with 58-57, but final frantic round of combats saw two arab spearmen broke and ran, and that was all that was needed to call this a british "victory".
Thank you grumpydaddy, always fun to play with you. All our battles seem to end up like bloodbaths!

Always fun. I sealed my own fate with a final unneeded charge that allowed you a flanking attack with your cavalry. My eyes continued from my unit to focus on your cavalry unit sitting atop the hilltop in perfect flanking position and I had that "crap, that's why I hadn't charged yet" moment.

A good strategic beginning from my opponent as he secured the hill in the middle with a lot of archers. My light infantry was in disarray and has to fall back . But during the heavy infantry fight, I was able to secure several flanking attacks which proved fatal to this sister army.

I made a major mistake and exposed the flank of one of my phalanxes, and MadMaxBot capitalized on that beautifully. Then some of his routing troops rallied, while mine kept routing. Well done, MadMaxBot!

Division C
SawyerK (Egyptian 664-571 BC) and wmpryor (Lydian 550-546 BC) ended in a draw at 57 to 57 with all moves expended.
The Lydians swept the Egyptian right flank with their superior cavalry but the latter army took a rough hill on the left flank, wiping out most of the Lydian's medium troops in the process. Despite multiple attempts by the Lydians to bring home the win, the rough hill proved an insoluble barrier to their hoplites with the Egyptian medium units tenaciously holding place.
