Tutk1964(Dominate Roman Eastern Early) 11/32 Draw Kmaher(Ptolemaic) 24/34

A very longwinded affair which went the full distance ,24 turns. Neither army was keen to attack the other and formed up good defensive positions on hills facing each other. In the Later part of the battle the Roman right flank had enough of the staring contest and launched an assault. To late to win the battle but enough for the Legionaries to have some good combat practise. Thanks for the game cheers Turk

The Huns just ran out of room to manoeuvre and were slaughtered by pikes and lancers.

An engrossing hard fought match that was evenly contested throughout. A draw would have been a fair result but I will gratefully take the win.

I had the high ground and more ranged units, which essentially meant it was easier for me to play with my own flow.

High Middle Ages round up

A lot of huffing and puffing going on in Division A now but Eric's commanding lead at the top of the table remains undiminished. ianiow is the main challenger in second place and klayeckles could still put in a challenge if ianiow manages to beat ericdoman1 in their match. At the bottom of the table rexhurley's win against macsen means that he will finish above CharlesWayneRobinson on the tie-breaker and macsen remains anchored to the foot of the table with 3 straight defeats.

Only 4 matches remain unplayed now in Division B. lydianed has won the division with BillMc finishing second, but all the focus now is on the relegation struggle at the bottom of the table involving 4 players. kmaher is in desperate need of a win after 6 straight defeats while steve-h8 has just 1 win in 7 matches. Both epos and iandavidsmith need to pick up a couple more points to be certain of escaping the bottom position. The 4 remaining fixtures are epos v kmaher, iandavidsmith v kmaher, iandavidsmith v steve-h8 and kmaher v steve-h8.

Division C has been a fabulous contest with zumHeuriger, Peterabb and kme37158 battling it out for the automatic promotion place. The situation now is if Peterabb wins or draws his last match against mcwar then he will win this division outright. At the bottom tullius, Triaxe and mcwar desperately need points - the Triaxe versus tullius match is underway at the moment and that will have a large bearing on the outcome of the relegation struggle.

Little movement in Division D this week where Cunningcairn, maximvs and claytonengel all have chances to win the contest.

Classical Antiquity round up

Little to report in Division A other than CheAhn is back in the clubhouse with 6 wins from his 9 matches - 24 points will probably not be enough to win this division but a good target has been set for the other players to chase. ianiow has started with 2 wins this week and Sharkall also has 2 wins. ericdoman1 remains in second place though with 4 wins from his 5 matches.

In Division B Turk1964 has sneaked into the lead after a very cautious draw with kmaher. cavehobbit is just one point behind and he also has one game left. Also on 20 points are voskarp and rexhurley but they have finished their matches. So the way is left open for Ironclad who has 16 points from just 5 matches - 3 wins, or 2 wins and a draw, from his last 4 matches will be enough to win the division. Ironclad has still to play epos, kmaher, Turk1964 and Ulysisgrunt. At the bottom the relegation struggle is between kmaher and Ulysisgrunt.

Greetings44 has already won Division C so the main interest is in who comes second. george123 defeated mcfcivo this week in an important match and now sits just 6 points behind second-placed maulet who has finished his matches. george123 needs to win 2 of his last 3 matches against Peterabb, Supervark and tullius to secure second place. tullius, Supervark and warmonger2450 are still in need of points at the bottom.

Still very quiet in Division D with only mchargmg extending his winning sequence to 4 matches against close rival teletabicus and tofman04 registering an important win in the basement struggle against grandad this week.

Early Middle Ages round up

Wins for cavehobbit and Tiavals this week in Division A. Tiavals moves into third place with 3 wins and a draw in his 4 matches and is emerging as the strongest challenger to ericdoman1 and ianiow. hidde is still well-placed despite that surprise defeat to cavehobbit this week.

The winner and runner-up of Division B has already been decided so the main interest now is in the relegation battle between kmaher, epos, Ironclad and iandavidsmith. lydianed recorded his fifth straight win and he is challenging Kilroy strongly for third place.

Cunningcairn got off to a flying start as a replacement for Turkoman with 2 wins in a row before he was pegged back by zumHeuriger. That win took zumHeuriger away from the bottom of the table and gives him a reasonable chance of avoiding the drop. Still everything to play for here with tullius unbeaten after 3 matches in pole position.

In Division D, Breogan has moved to the top of the table after beating teletabicus. mcharmg and otbc are just 2 points behind with teletabicus 4 points further back. Mike48 is still bringing up the rear with 7 straight defeats.
