So in a reorg, can you empty out a brigade that only has 8 units left by moving them into a receiving brigade?

Yes, that's correct... A BG with 8 units or less can re-org into a neighbouring BG (eliminating the first BG completely)...

There are three important differences between a Brigade Re-organisation versus a Merger...
1. Merge consumes all units from both brigades. Brigade Re-org is limited to max 8 units in each direction.
2. Merge consumes all remaining moves for that turn. However, a Brigade Re-org is smaller scale and considered less disruptive, so it only consumes 1 move from both BGs.
3. In a Merger, the combined BG's name becomes that of the BG that contributes the most units. If both BGs contribute the same number of units, the Commander may choose which name the combined BG will take. However, in a Brigade Re-org, the receiving BG always keeps its name. (This makes a difference for retaining elite status for your BG's).

Jon, correct me if I'm wrong but, each BG can only have 32 units max, correct? So if you merge, you can only merge to the 32 unit limit?

Will not be in Hermanville a AFD since we havent moved the 27/3 jet?
Ok no problem, no need to fight your wife for the game.

Abbaye: See above.
Eterville: If 27/3 wins, then 231/50 passes through to Eterville *** See Cristot above ***

Hermanville: 192/21 ASD v 27/3 is an ASD because 27/3 is about to depart.
But I could be wrong...

Benouville: [A] will be the units that are being Brigade Re-orged (they have to be disclosed in Orders; they have been; I just haven't posted 'em yet... Wife!

)
Abbaye: Yes, you're right. If 22/7 gets to pass through to Abbaye, it will fight Ost 411/716 - so this is a Dependent Battle - it would be an ME if it happens; Brigade Re-org into Caen would happen after this battle (so Caen 1 can't happen until after Abbaye)
Cristot: You're right again, therefore there is no move to Eterville.
Sent from an Italian restaurant from my iPhone, lol...

Yes you are right i reread the rules and sounds youre completely right. Brrr i read the rules when I Started playing. And I am relearning them the hard way. Hermanville sounds like a ASD.

Simplistically, if a BG does not move during a turn, then it "defends" its sector. A defending BG wins AFD advantages.
If a BG is ordered to move, it can be intercepted or attacked while it is moving/withdrawing, suffering an ASD.
If a BG moves before it is intercepted, then it carries out its moves (hence the importance of prioritisation; by way of example, that's the reason that 30/79 is allowed to attack Pegasus, despite being itself attacked in Benouville afterwards)
If two BGs arrive in the same sector on the same day, and that sector is the final destination for both BGs, then it's an ME.

A lot of battles today!
What I'd say to both sides is that, remember, if you don't fancy your chances in any battles, check...
(i) that there is an empty, friendly owned sector adjacent
(ii) hold at least one flag at the end of the battle
so you can safely withdraw with most of your units intact... or...
(iii) negotiate a ceasefire
The trick is going to be, because the frontlines are becoming quite muddled up now, several BGs have nowhere to withdraw to, and must win or be dissolved...

Map updated. I think I got most of it right...
Arrows indicates moves depending on the outcome of the battles.
