Blagrot wrote: Sat May 16, 2020 6:23 pm Hi Stockwellpete, another newbie looking for an invite if there's space :-) . Also (and apologies if these are daft questions) is it only the biblical section that requires the TT mod? There's a mention of an Iberian open beta on the spanish lists in Classical Antiquity, where do i get that, is it the same as the current steam open beta? Thanks for running and answering hapless beginners :-D
OK, I have added you to the invitation list. I will be sending them out on Monday morning (UK time). Yes, only the Biblical section uses the TT Mod. I am not sure what the Iberian open beta is but we do not use Open Betas in the tournament so I wouldn't worry about that one.

You have PM.

Anyone in touch with lunecastle? He still hasn't picked up his prize voucher from last season.

I must say that this is looking very promising indeed for Season 8 with all these new players expressing an interest in joining the tournament. :D

I will be sending out invitations this morning in a couple of hours time (I am getting a few anxious sounding PM's). Don't worry, I will not forget anyone who has been in contact, but I must go for my run first to keep myself fit enough to host this tournament.

Right, let's get this show on the road for another season. This is how I am going to proceed . . .

1) send a group PM to all the players with a FOG2DL rating (minus the 2 players who did not complete their matches last season for reasons other than coronavirus)
2) open up the recruitment threads
3) send a slightly different group PM to all the new players who have expressed an interest in the tournament since the last one finished
4) put adverts out in the main forum and on the Steam forum

I will start by opening up 40 places in the four main league sections and 12 places in the Themed Event, but my maximums are 60 and 24 respectively, so no-one has to worry about there not being enough space. If you are not sure at this stage which 4 armies you wish to choose for a particular section then just put "armies to follow". And if you do this please edit your original post with your armies rather than post a second time in the recruitment thread (because this can sometimes throw my numbers out when I am counting the number of players).

You may put "armies to follow" if you have not chosen yet, but please edit your original post once you have. Please do not post twice in this recruitment thread.
