About sixty Soviet tanks were reportedly destroyed by the Charlemagne battalion during the fighting in Berlin, all of them destroyed by panzerfaust.

A special T-34/85. This one added multiple mesh armor and armor plate to get a better survivalship against the panzerfaust. Served in the Red Army on their way to Berlin.

This was most likely not a factory-fitted solution but was welded on in field workshops, given that, in urban environments, the ‘witch’s sucker’ could ambush a tank from any angle or through a shattered roof! Perhaps if the war had lasted longer, a factory-fitted version of the grilles would have appeared – just as they now weld grilles directly onto the tank turret at the factory to protect against drones!

A tank in urban combat without infantry support is an easy target, as proven by the battles for the city of Grozny in Chechnya! At that time, mobile groups of Chechen separatists used grenade launchers to destroy a great deal of Russian armoured vehicles

Tank crews in many countries resorted to such modifications; it probably served as a psychological comfort. For example, General Patton forbade his tank crews from weighing down their Shermans with sandbags and camouflaging them, but the higher-ups were far away, and it was the ordinary tank crewman who would end up in the line of fire. So they resorted to improvisation and self-consolation!

I haven't made artillery pieces for a long time. Today I get this ready: Soviet 305mm M1915 super heavy howitzer. Some of them used in the battles of Koningsberg in 1945.

Yugoslavian M.28 tank. The Royal Yugoslavian army ordered 11 Renault-Kégresse tanks and named them as M.28. These are improved FT-17 tanks with a brand new Renault-Kégresse suspension and new robber tracks.

I begin to prepare some soldier icons.
Here is the Bulgarian paratroopers. They formed the first battalion in 1943, and were wearing German splinter camo jumping smocks and Bulgarian helmets.

That’s great! Will you be recreating all the airborne units from different countries, or just those that aren’t featured in any mod or in the original game?

Well, that makes sense – why else would you redo it if it already exists! Good luck and all the best with your creative endeavours!

Hungarian Paratroopers or Ejtőernyösök
Trained at Pápa and Veszprém in western Hungary, Honvéd paratroopers represented an elite organization formed from dedicated volunteers. They were first dropped into action against the Yugoslav army in April, 1941. During most of the war, they were thrown in at troublespots, but mainly as ground troops as opposed to being dropped in. During 1944, they served with distinction helping to stop the Soviets on the Carpathian Mountains. They fought resolutely at the Tisza River line, by the Ipoly/Garam rivers, east of Budapest, and in the Bakony mountains, paying with very heavy losses of life. May they rest in peace.
