markleslie Syro-Canaanite 1207-1100 BC with Egyptian 1149-1069 BC allies defeats tyronec Babylonian 890-729 BC with Assyrian 890-746 BC 60-35.

Turn 2 - Down by the sea the Hosts have assembled.
The Great King with the aid of a huge hill, a clear sign of divine favour, decides that this day shall be ours and orders the advance. The right wing will advance to the top of the hill and threaten bloody destruction on the enemy while the left wing will attempt to skirmish and hold whatever is thrown out on the open flank.

Image

Turn 10 - Now fully committed the combatants look to the Gods to decide their fate.
The Babylonian right flank advanced swiftly out of the woods to engage those opposite while the remains of their army continued to loiter about the enclosed fields, no doubt reassured by a few irrigation ditches between them and the blood thirsty wave cresting the great hill.

Image

Seeing the Babylonian right flank advance up onto the hill to the scattered woods to meet our forces the Great King, observing the widening gap between their right and their main line, orders our right wing shock troops to turn 90 degrees and march down hill to strike the head of the snake while our second line troops remain on the hill to hold what will surely come.

A stiff fight, a long fight, but the enemies right flank finally crumbles and flees while our valiant defenders on the hill hold just long enough to be recognised as a footnote in offical histories.

Salute!

44-18

In a strong defensive position with rough ground on one flank and a forest and a pond, the Egyptians were extremely passive at first. The Egyptian skirmishers managed to entice the nomad horse archers into a premature assault that was cut down by massed archers and chariots. An aggressive chariot break out manage to rout enough troops to get the win.

devoncop (Khazar 566-737AD) beat rockmanbob (Frankish 496-599AD) 60-34

Tournament score :

devoncop 60 +26 = 86

rockmanbob 34 =34

The Khazar Lancer had fortunate terrain to protect their foot archers combined with hills and woods to obstruct the Franks. A Cavalry duel on the Frankish left resulted in the Khazars being able to move across the flanks on the hard fighting Franks.

A tough match.

Well played to my opponent.

defeated

Antivirt and his Macedonian 320-261 BC army plus Greek 280-228 BC ally

by 56-22.

The older Macedonians were able to gain an advantage on their left flank and move to the center before the younger edition decimated the left flank of the older edition—a good match between two similar forces.

markleslie Syro-Canaanite 1207-1100 BC with Egyptian 1149-1069 BC allies defeats IMC Urartian 780-750 BC 51-23.

Turn 2
The Great King interrupts his beard stroking long enough to indicate the enemy and our host, minus the bushwackers, rapidly advances hoping to use the rough as a barrier against the heavy chariots.
The Urartians, perhaps confident in their chariots but not so much their foot, advanced their right while their left trails wheeling the battle lines.

Image

Turn 6 - The lines committed, the ambush sprung.
The Urartian shooters had little effect on the Great Kings foreign allies and the impact foot smashed the foes centre and left like a ripe pomegranate, splattering seeds in all directions.

Image

Good luck to my opponent for the rest of the tourney and salute!

Solemnace Baltic Tribes 1050-1283 AD defeats dragmio Polish 1200-1319 with German (North/west) 42-14

The Allied left flank collapsed the flank of their best infantry was exposed and both of the best Allied infantry units were routed by a single unit of Baltic foot. Despite partially successful Allied efforts to exploit overzealous Baltic infantry this collapse was compounded by a collapse in their forces on the edge of the right flank atop a hill which was only prevented from being worse by the rapid collapse of the Allied army and their flight from the field.

Tournament points :

Rob 123 .... 45 = 45

A swirling desert encounter where for once the Khazar archers managed to neutralise the feared elephant threat that caused them to fall to defeat against the main Sassanid Persian army earlier in the tournament. Rob put up a heck of a fight from a position of disadvantage and was still gaining ground back as the Khazars finally squeaked home.
